Default 997 GT3 Seat Options

Hello Everyone,

I'm expecting to take delivery of my GT3 in early April. I've been looking around at good options for the seat replacement. I'm using the car mostly for track days so I'm looking for a good race style seat. I've looked at Carnewal and the GT3 seat option is a possibility but at almost $9000 CDN I am considering other options. I wanted to know what people have tried or are going to try for their GT3. I'm strongly considering the Sparco DTM Carbon Fiber Seat (Carbon Fiber Shell wrapped in supple black Leather and ultra-soft black Suede) because the leather ans suede option would fit the look of the existing interior. Is anyone familiar with this seat? Has anyone tried it? Is there any reason that I shouldn't consider it. Canadian price is about 1/2 of the GT3 option.

Thanks in advance

if you mostly use it for track, get the OMP seat that comes in the cup car.

if you want leather and suede that works with interior you can also get the 996GT3 seats ( see carnewal) and they are a good track/street compromise

if you don't car about street comfort or interior matching better values out there with OMP or recaro SPG

The good new is that when the seats are available, you'll be able to get them in the states for about $6600 CDN....

Its always a good idea to go to a shop where you can actually sit in the seats that you are considering. I think the Sparco DTM Carbon Fiber seat is a beautiful seat, but its not as comfortable (for me) as the Recaro GT3 seats. I was able to go up to Seattle and try out a vast selection of seats at Speedware Motorsports. (no affiliation)

JWGT2 you need to check the seats that james took some pix of at the LA autoshow... I have my feelers out for the RS euro seats but it's looking like a good bit of time and um $$$ at this point

Poor lil Turbo S.... At least when the engine goes back in it'll be PISSED off

Not a bad idea man. I have my wife convinced that she needs to buy your Cayman. Then we could take the seats out of that, put them in your 997GT3 along with: ,https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-gt3-forum/320729-sharkwerks-gt3-extinguisher-kit-coming-soon-head-count.html - meanwhile drop an X-51 3.8 into your old cayman. Slap on a Tubi, motons and give the car back to my wife.

Sorry back on topic- I still love my trusty GT3 seats and for around 2K they're not a terrible deal. I may put a set into the turbo after all. Not sure...

PS And change that avatar already! You got promoted from delivering Pizza

I was also thinking about the DTM seat. What made it less comfortable for you?
