Default New Cobalt GT3

Just got this last Friday. It's an incredible car, and better than I expected. I traded my 2004 GT3 in on it.

It feels very solid, and hunkered down - almost like it has AWD. More midrange punch than the 996 GT3, and fantastic sound.

Few more pix. The bright silver bits on the interior of the regular 997 are replaced with a darker finish on the GT3. I like that.

Absolutely gorgeous! I have a Cobalt Blue one on it's way and am having trouble containing myself! Nice to know that there is another Cobalt Blue one in the Northwest - perhaps they will meet sometime!

Enjoy!

I hope to do some Portland track days, so I hope we can meet. I'm guessing Cobalt GT3s are pretty rare.

Nice car. I always admired your slate X51 too. Will you be keeping the X51 also?

Thanks everyone. I will post some track comments when I get a chance. Based on how this thing drives on the street, I predict it will be an absolute blast on the track.

A few observations vis-à-vis the 996 GT3:

* The steering is much less darty and twitchy than the 996.
* You can feel the wider rear track - there is more of a feeling of stability.
* The throttle steer is much less pronounced than the 996.
* The short-shifter is a little shorter and more notchy, maybe because it's still new.
* The sports seats are so much better than the 996-series sport seats.
* There are no noises from the differential and suspension.
* When 'Sport' mode is engaged, the exhaust is noticeably louder, and its louder than the stock 996 GT3 exhaust.
* You can still feel the vibration of the engine through the seats, like the 996 GT3.

I'm really impressed. This is the best 911 I've ever driven.
