Default Picked up new car, pics

Hi,

Just came in Tuesday night. Perfect condition. The dealership preped it in two hours, and I took it home at 7pm. I had some concern, as here in nothern Colorado it is still a mess, several fee of snow on the ground, hardpack on the side streets. I figured that the last block to my house would be the worst, but at 5 mph it made it down the hardpack and up the driveway.

I drove the car home still wrapped in plastic, figured that would keep the salt and mush off the car.

Here are a couple of quick photos at the dealer, still covered in plastic in the garage, and a couple after washing today in 55 degree weather. Still no wax.

The car is pretty well optioned.

I can't drive it until the roads clear, it's killing me. In the mean time, it's easy on the eyes.

Congratulations. Your garage gives me hope. I just bought a 997 C2S cab. Looking to add a 997 GT3 in 1-2 years. Thanks for the inspiration.

Nice!!!

but red is nicer.

3m adhesive remover works great for the glue lines.

Gonna get a set of snows? Nokian WR winter tires (N-rated)

Beautiful. My color choice EXACTLY!! Congratulations. How low is that front spoiler? While it won't look right without it, I have a tough driveway entrance, and may need to consider running without it as my daily driver.

Red is very nice, I've been admiring your car. I've always loved guards, had a 996 cab in GR. If I could order again, GR might be my first choice. The white is pretty stunning in person.

No, you silly, no snows. I've got an Audi A8 for that. I didn't want to take it home in the snow, but the thought of leaving it at the dealers for days was worse. Everything bad that has ever happened to my car has occured at the dealer.

I did use 3m for the glue lines, works great. The car cleaned up better than any other Porsche I've had. Almost no cosmoline and only a few faint adhesive lines. I think the cold weather helps, the plastic came off very easily.

Rawking car. Digging it.

Not sure about the blue tender-bumper option though. Looks out of place.

Cytoboy,

The front spoiler is exactly 4.5 inches off the ground. I hit it three times on the first drive home. The salesman and I went to the corner station for a free tank, and I could not get up either entrance, and scraped it pretty good. I abraded about 3mm of plastic off the bottom. Scraped it good on my driveway too.

I ordered two new air splitters the next morning. $128 each, dealer threw one in for free. Just consider them a disposable item and enjoy the car.

Are you a cytologist? I run a hospital lab including a cyto service.

Well done.

I don't know how you'll be able to stand it -- waiting for good weather -- just buy an enclosed trailer and start towing it south until the roads are dry and warm.

At least you'll have ample time to detail it, layer it in wax and tweak little things like clear corner markers. What else did you choose for the cabin options? I wish I did the carbon center console, but over $1200, I just couldn't bring myself to check the box ... : )

Congrats - very nicely optioned car. Are these the sport seats? I like your accents with the yellow belts and the PCCBs. Mine is coming in white too and after reading all the PCCB stuff I'm now actually looking at switching to PCCBs - hmmmm. Be careful driving and enjoy!
