Default Speccing Out the RS Thursday...

We'll finally be heading in to spec out the car. I'm going to sleep on it but it'll be a greener...

PCCBs, Xenons, sunroof delete and maybe some other knick knacks. Was thinking of green stiching and belts but not sure what else.

No sunroof on the RS. I did add Navigation to mine too, i thought it would be practical on my way to racetracks I still don't know.

Wouldn't it be funny if all these RS' came with sunroofs unless you picked the sunroof delete option?

No sunroof delete option. Car can only be delete airconditioning. Congratulations on the courage to order Green. It will be one of few and I sincerely compliment you on your decision. I lost sleep over Orange!!!! I think the Green deviated stictching would be a bit much and for sure Green belts would be too much. Have some restraint. Less is more.
this of course is one mans opinion. jon in delaware

To be clear, Porsche has not printed anywhere that the NA RS comes without a sunroof. The only info we have is the email that was sent to dealer reps identifying what the RS will have that the regular GT3 does not. But in that email, it also said a carbon fron hood would be on the car - so we are really back to square one...no one really knows.

I spec'd my RS Monday. Dealer said no sunroof on the RS (only on the regular GT3 and in the US it cannot be deleted). I did not check on the carbon hood though.

I didn't realize you could get green or yellow belts. I think the order guide only says red, yellow, silver as options.

i'll contact the make a wish foundation but I think I know of a way to make it green. Hmm I guess I'll get yellow belts then. At least it'l be "Cheap" that way since I don't have to pay for rears as well

Porsche has not printed anything about a no sunroof for the RS. They are being very clever and I wouldnt be surprised if we see a sunroof on the RS.
Your dealer is just going by the same email all dealer reps received about the RS below:

"-Rear fenders similar to the Carrera 4, 44mm wider than the GT3 -Adjustable carbon fiber rear wing -Carbon fiber front lid -Race-regulated rear wheel carriers and split rear wishbones -Single-mass flywheel to allow revs to build faster -Solid roof (no sunroof) -Weight reduction of 44 pounds over the GT3"

Apparently the carbon roof is not happening. It seems that the email was only written by someone who doesn't know what we are really getting so if we arent getting the carbon hood, AND since Porsche NA has not made public any printed information about a NA RS coming WITHOUT a sunroof, the car can still come with one AND there is nothing you can do about it. Porsche will always refer to the informtion they made public and the pdf for the US RS specs says nothing about NO sunroof.

Good luck.
