Now people should be censored because they don’t agree with having a sunroof in the GT3? If it weren’t for all the people deriding the sunroof in the first place I bet there would be a bunch of potential RS owners that would be a lot less happy. There is always 08 model year to hopefully force the change.

One of the major changes (over the 996 GT3) is that the front seats (only seats) are placed lower in the car.
Another one is that the pedal placement is further forward, brake pedal by 10mm and clutch pedal by 15mm. Allowable because of a new bulkhead cross member. A specific accomodation for taller drivers
Oh and for the sunroof issue ( besides the available increases available in headroom) did you know that over the 996 GT3 there is an 8% increase in torsional rigidity and 40% increase in flexural rigidity.
Very good news indeed.
Very, very good news for me, @ 6'3". with a 997 GT3 due at the shipper's 11/30! Thanks, Colm.
Frankly, I'm sick and tired of snide 'sunroof posts'. On paper, anyway, the 997 is the superior car, and I get a sense of zealotry from the posters who deride the 997 for its sunroof. Would I have taken a sunroof if I had a choice? No, I think few of us would have . We agree, issue closed. If you feel compelled to post further boring and repetitious comments about the 997 sunroof, please do so on the 996 GT3f orum where you will, at least. be among friends.
Otherwise,
Regards!

I was one of the people that wrote a letter to PCNA and PAG, regarding the sunroof in the RS. I'm currently on a dealer waiting list for a 997 GT3 RS. I wouldn't expect the 997 sunroof issue to be discussed in the 996 forum. ??
Incidentally, I've received two responses. The first letter simply said that they had received my comments and were passing them along. The second letter stated that the decision had been made to have a "sunroof delete" option for the USA 997 GT3 RS.
Is this correct? If so, I hope everyone remembers to specify "sunroof delete" on their RS, and nobody gets a unpleasant surprise of a free giant hole in their roof.
I guess it would be rare.

I think what is being said here is, if you are unhappy with the 997GT3 being only available with a sunroof and choose not to purchase one because of that discuss it with your pals who agree with you in the other forums. Those of us here pretty much could care less what you think of the sunroof and enjoy hearing informative and positive input about our cars. Some of us have been Porsche owners longer then most of you have been born.

I feel we made a difference for the RS and believe we can do it for the GT3 too. If there weren't people like me bitching, even RS would come with the sunroof.
P.S. You're in the middle now **********!

The originally post was dissecting the sunroof, while it’s great that everyone can have an opinion about it, I believe there should be a choice and if enough voices are heard there may be a change for ‘08. If you need a pat on the back to make you feel good about the car you own, only read the posts that make you feel warm and fuzzy.
BTW, I’ve only owned 911’s for the last 20 years, not quit as long as you, so I might not know what I’m talking about...

I agree with your point. But I also agree that the battle, at least with respect to the 2007 997 GT3s is over . . .
