The sunroof is standard...the question is can it be deleted?? I'm working on the answer.

Is it me, or is a 67L tank atypically large?

Cruise control? Sunroof?

Puh-lease, that's ridiculous.

I don't think it is that large. 67L=17.7Gallon which is only .8 Gallons more than a 997C2.

My Cayenne is 100L.

Actually cruise control was an option on the 996 GT3's and from what I've gathered it was almost a standard...I didn't order it on mine but every single one other than mine that I've ever seen had it.

Now if the sunroof can't be deleted, then I agree, that's ridiculous!!!

If the sunroof cannot be deleted then hopefully my 996 GT3 will stop free falling in depreciation.

That will be determined by many factors including the rumored "RS."

This is very disappointing. Sounds like Porsche marketing really screwed up this time. I'm #4 at our local dealer for a 997 GT3 but I don't think I'll get it with a sunroof. A tire pressure monitoring system? Please!

Don't blame Porsche for this one. It is my understanding that tire pressure monitoring systems are, or soon will be, mandatory on all new cars sold in the US. Blame ourselves (or at least our elected representatives).

The TPMS will be standard on all 07 cars in the US, mandatory I think.

Do you honestly believe a 25 pound sunroof will be the hinging factor on your car's depreciation?

I think he's referencing the perception of it (997 GT3) not being as "hardcore" as the 996 GT3 and thus the impact that may have on the residual "value" of the latter.

Like I said there are many more deciding factors.

A sun roof is a big deal. There is less head room, especially with an helmet. There is the perception of a more sedan car. There will be some complications should the owner decide to install a cage later. There is the unclean "cut" lines on the roof.

I think the sport/sedan market is very well served by the C2S, so I really don't understand why Porsche is doing this.
