Interestly looking intake.....but I have many questions.
Can you post better photos? - many of these are dark and/or shadowy, also we will need to see the "air box"from all angles.
How does it fit the angled dual cone filter arrangement? Is it open on one side (if so, my interest is greatly reduced)?
I'll bet most enthusiasts won't give this a second look unless you have before and after dynos....

Was this designed to suck hot air from the engine instead of cold air from the intake duct? I don’t see any cutouts on the top to let fresh air in. The thread title is a question so are you not sure if this provides better airflow?

That large cf piece is the bottom. The there is a cutout on the right for fresh air via the rear deck scoop.

The only issue I see with this is that the left side will not get as much air as the right, the enclosure doesn’t look 100% air tight and it’s $2,200 for engine jewelry. The air box is not the weak link in this car.

but there is a gap on top between the left and right runners. How does the fresh air get to the left cone? Looks like it’s mostly blocked by the Y connector.

Crazy in that it looks like it's fully open at the top with just two Cf cover pieces to hide the filters. That left side is starving while the right is getting air rammed down its throat, all of it getting mixed temp air.

Maybe it's an air restrictor? Like a valet key. Reduced power mode when someone borrows your car. Seems like a hassle to swap in and out though. I think we need to see some dyno results. The question should not be does it improve airflow, it should be does it improve power? Sucking in more of less-dense hot air may not achieve the desired results. That's why I laugh when I see flow bench results by themselves. The fact that an intake can deliver more air does not mean that the car can actually use more of it to produce additional power. You still have intake runners, valves, fuel and exhaust that would need to be able to handle the additional air to make more power. And then we still have the question of air temp (i.e. air density).

The thought process behind this was flawed from the onset. Yikes.

I have the Aworx intake made in Germany which is the same as the Sharkwerks intake and a copy of the 4.0. Fully sealed with cutouts for the decklid scoops. This intake will just suck in hot engine air.

Im no expert but it’s my understanding that these are very sensitive engines and most if not all good GT3 intake companies like SW and Dundon recommend you actually want you to do some throttle body, o2 (air to fuel ratio) adjustments if you change the intake

so I’d say a kit that boasts no tune is probably doing nothing for you…

I recall there was an article written a few years ago with Andreas Preuninger, where he said the GT3 actually makes more horsepower once moving than the published amount because at speed the air scoop and sealed air box pressurize intake air and generate more power. I would be suspicious of any intake that loses the sealed design, since you lose the benefit of the air being pressurized. It simply escapes through any opening in the airbox between the intake and the throttle body.

Love my Dundon intake. Lovely piece of functional eye candy.
