Was the front bumper vent available from Porsche in Carbon fiber, or only from aftermarket?

 

Only aftermarket.

Edit: Only aftermarket for GT3, which is how I was answering the question. As mentioned below, it was standard on GT2RS.

 

Assume you are referring to the center grille just in front of the hood? GT2RS had an OEM center grille in carbon. Part number: 99757532781

Good callout. I was thinking GT3 from factory. But I’m guessing that could fit GT3 too.

 

Found more info. Porsche calls it "Trim for bumper, air exhaust"

 

Hi, your post is a little vague and from your screen name I'm assuming that you have a C2S. On the Gt3 there is an exhaust vent that is more commonly known as the GT3 smile vent. It sits on top part of the bumper alloying heat to exit from the radiators.

The front of the GT3 doesn't really have any other type of vent as they are just intakes and it's just plain old body colored bumper.

If it's the smile in carbon fiber you're looking for, I had one back in the day and couldn't install it as the quality was horrendous. I got it free in a used carbon fiber deal from another member. I got rid of it as it was too ugly to look at, even in my garage.

I did a little search and saw this and the quality looks to be even worse than mine was. Hope I'm on the right track with you. If so, and you want to add to a Gt3 easy. If you still ahve a Cs2, Rennline makes a kit. Maybe you can get their template for free from them.

After doing some more research, on the GT2RS, this wasn't an option, it was standard. See page 8: https://www.stuttcars.com/wp-content...2010-01-EN.pdf

"The carbon air outlet in front of the front lid guides the air flowing through the central radiator up over the vehicle, thus increasing the downforce on the front axle."

This wasn't offered on the GT3 from what I can tell, so to the OP's question, it really depends what car you're asking about. Not sure if the GT2RS one would fit the GT3 models.

 

Hi Joe, yea the OPs question left a lot of questions. I'm assuming he wants that smile in carbon. The Gt3 smile and the Gt2 smile are totally different. One will not fit the other.

 

I have a C2S with OEM GT3 bumpers with smile vent. I found a new/used listing for the carbon vent but listing says for '997' and doesn't specify gt2 or gt3 hence my question. The other half of my post was to confirm it was available OEM, only way I would add it to my car, strictly OEM+ build. Thanks for your help! Based on the pictures, it looks the same!? Seller asking $325CAD. Not sure on brand, but seems reasonable in price.

 

that looks like the same one I had. Quality is horrendous. Don’t bother with that. You can see it in the pictures that it’s some pretty shoddy quality

Mac carbon is what you want it was never available from Porsche in carbon fiber and the gt2 smile is totally different and will not fit. You only have one choice for this. Maccarbon
