i do not know the time frame for sapphire blue as a paint color - the official color name for my 2011 911 GT3 was aqua blue - less common on 997 GT3’s but saw quite a few 997 GT3 RS in Aqua Blue - it’s one of my all time favorite Porsche Blues - if PTS was an option for MY’2023 Aqua Blue might have won the tug-o-war for my 992 GT3 RS - but we will never know

it was special to see the car again

my old GT3 next to my new GT3 RS - 12 years apart - wow

Sapphire Blue replaced Aqua starting in 2014 (was never available before then). Aqua was available from 2009-2013 and before that it was Cobalt.

That's what I thought. @ard confused me with his post above ^^

Hi all. I'm in the Sonoma area until the 14th. Would love to join if there's another meet up. I'll be relocating my 7.2 GT3 to the Bay Area and spending more time here next year. Currently driving my 992 T.

Yes please join the next one on January 21st. The meetups take place every 3rd Sunday at 9am. We normally meet at City Center Bishop Ranch in San Ramon, but met at Blackhawk Plaza in December because of a space conflict. We'll be back in San Ramon for January.

Thank you but it looks like I may be gone by then. Planning to leave Sonoma on the 14th and be at the border around the 17th. I plan to bring the GT3 up here and will reach out when I do. Thank you again for the invite.

All, this Sunday, January 21st at 9am is the 1st GT-car get-together of 2024. Hope to see many of you there. As always, all cars are welcomed.

We are back to our “normal” location (City Center Bishop Ranch San Ramon, in the eastern corner of the parking lot near Philz Coffee - 6000 Bollinger Canyon Rd Suite 1609, San Ramon, CA 94583).

I have heard that some people may go for a drive after the GTG, around 10:30am, to Alice’s in the Santa Cruz mountains. I am not organizing the drive, just passing the info along that people might head out toward Hwy 92 and then Hwy 35.

/Alex

Looks like there’s a gap in the rain on Saturday. Might make sense to move it like last time if it holds up.

Yes I've been keeping an eye on the weather and it's "iffy" for Sunday for sure and maybe a tad better for Saturday. The main issue is that on Saturday a Farmer's market takes place at City Center so we'd have to move to Blackhawk again as City Center gets crowded on days that the Farmer's Market takes place. That is doable although I'd love to keep the location constant to make it easy to remember.

I see 3 options:
  1. cancel
  2. reschedule to Saturday and move to Blackhawk
  3. keep Sunday at City Center

LMK what you think.

UPDATE: The weather forecast has turned to mostly rain on both Saturday and Sunday, so unfortunately I'll CANCEL this month's GTG as the fun factor of standing around in the rain isn't very high even with a backdrop of GT cars.

3rd Sunday of the month is this weekend, February 18th, so that means ...

GT-car GTG at the usual location at 9am - Near Philz Coffee in the City Center Shopping Center in San Ramon (address: 6000 Bollinger Canyon Rd Suite 1609, San Ramon, CA 94583)

Although rain is forecast for later in the day on Sunday, the morning looks to be dry. Hope to see a number of you there.

I'll try and make it Alex, but I might be prepping my car for this event on Monday. It's been a blast and basically unlimited seat time previous times I've gone:

Would be fun to get some of the GT meet folks out there. @Eric Kessel too.
