Swapped rss x pipe to sw. RSS was beat up. Wanted fresh black and had one local. But the best thing was did the valve open mod So much damn better at low rpm. No more massive change. But smooth and progressive sound.

Did Carnewal vacuum mod 5 yrs ago (a month after purchase). Now you also have the choice of Valvetronics too.
It's the best of both worlds. Quiet when leaving neighborhood, and always open when you're out & want it always open. Easy to install, not expensive, and give you choice @ click of a button.

sport off - valves open at 4k rpm
sport on - valves open at idle, then close and reopen at 3k rpm
valve mod - open from idle and never close. So you get a lot more natural sound from idle up. It’s so much better. Instead of that muted sound then all the sudden loud

more than that. If it was just that I’d just hit the button.

Vudores, There's even more modes (... when you use carnewal or valvetronics)
sport off - valves open at 4k rpm
sport on - valves open at idle, then close and reopen at 3k rpm
valve mod - open from idle and never close. So you get a lot more natural sound from idle up. It’s so much better. Instead of that muted sound then all the sudden loud[
... Add:
- Push aftermarket valve button before starting ([i]or when you last shut er down), and enjoy a very quiet warm up in your driveway & enjoy not having your neighbors make snide remarks to you later.
- Once you've left your garage / driveway / neighborhood, push the aftermarket button again & enjoy mode 3 listed above.
.... or even shut the valves when cruising,... so you can have a conversation with your passenger,... or even listen to the suspension, steering, tranny, etc if you're trying to diagnose a noise or problem.
but definitely unplug the vacuum solenoid first & go drive. Experience that first to see if you're like the rest of us who enjoy the open-valve sound from idle upward.

Much needed - had the belts cleaned and a little PDR since the previous owner failed to mentioned some things 🤣

Next dumb thing….just bought these. Should come in a couple weeks. Only seen it done by one other guy. With the recline mod they made for these they’re so comfy and aesthetically gorgeous. Will match the yellow perfectly.

I wrote this several years ago when I was comparing several P cars
2007 GT3 – It’s an event just starting the engine and slotting tranny into gear. Good engine / exhaust sounds. Pretty amazing shift linkage, tight, short, stiff, accurate and precise. The only other car I’ve ever driven that might be better = Acura NSX and its “rifle-bolt” shifter.
Ergonomics are quite good, steering wheel and pedals are centered in the driver’s box, steering wheel adjustable for reach and rake.
Great engine, surprisingly torquey for something that revs to 8400 rpm. Strong linear pull from ~ 3400 – 8400. Different from the 996 GT3, which seemed to take a second deep breath @ 7 grand and sprint to 8200.
Good chassis, much better front end grip and more appropriate seeming roll centers as compared with the 996 GT3. Very good on long sweeping corners, not so good handling the quick switchback transitions on Couser Canyon. I just could not find a smooth rhythm on the switchbacks, maybe because of inexperience in the car and unwillingness to push a car that I don’t own.
It has the expected great brakes even without big yellows.
I thought that the sport exhaust function of exhaust flap opening ~ 3800 a bit gimmicky. The car got much louder for no real reason even with light throttle as soon as the rpm threshold was crossed. Fortunately this was easily remedied by shutting off sport mode.
I got caught out a couple times by throttle oversteer. Much fun when expected, not so much when a surprise . J Even light throttle roll on caused this at least once. Definitely more grip at front of car vs rear on this particular car. Might have been caused by different tyres front and rear, Cups on front, PS2s on rear.

Please keep us posted on the seats and if you’re able to get all wiring functional. I’m not able to fit in the 997 folding buckets from a height perspective but the 991 fixed buckets fit me perfectly. I see those are 992 buckets but they should be similar.
