Maybe 8-10 years ago, the 997.2 GT2 RS ICs were essentially the only IC upgrade available for the .1 GT2 and was what a lot of people did back then. I think that’s why people keep suggesting them. Today there are other better options. These are reasonably priced, don’t have to be custom ordered, have been tested to be substantially superior, and don’t have the plastic side tanks like the factory RS units:

The tune alone won't make a bit of difference. You need the long tube headers with the tune and that will make a world of difference. Elliot has a full system and a nice one at that.

Steve I could give you a ride sometime since your local. But low down torque is improved a lot. Car pulls much harder under 5k. At the top end hard to say since it’s always felt fast. I need some empirical data. Maybe at a dyno day I could give her a run. Since I have stock dyno data.

Yes, 7.2TT and GT2RS are the same. I ran the OEM 7.2 ICs on a track application at 620whp for many years with success. They are light and shed heat quickly. The composite end tanks resist heat soak very well. There have been some issues of the end tanks leaking but that can be negated if some simple precautions are taken. Most of the aftermarket offerings are of dubious quality and I would not go down that route unless you go with true aerospace cores.
