^^LOL
Stitching looks like I did it.. (I've never stitched before)

I recently purchased GT2 Seats. Going to have them installed next week. Where can I get Alcantera Inserts... I do not feel like I need to buy the OEM ones at $2K.

DB Carbon. Less expensive than MA Carbon. Lifetime warranty.

If you get OEM from Suncoast, it may delaminate. Although I believe Porsche was changing carbon suppliers.

When I ordered mine from DB Carbon, there was about a 10 week lead-time, just so you can prepare.

Definitely one of the more unique I've seen and normal way more done than I'd prefer but something about it I absolutely love.

How do you guys keep your alcantara steering wheels from getting the fuzz/sandpaper feel? I recently bought a 997.2 GT3 and the alcantara steering wheel and shifter **** are both showing a good amount of wear/fuzz. Thanks!

Have since fitted a Modo Mod 07 wheel. The perfect addition. With the short boss kit the position of the wheel is spot on.

I’ve had good luck with a dedicated alcantara cleaner like Sonax. A light application, work it in with a a soft brush and wipe up with a microfiber towel to soak up any skin oils.

I haven’t been able the figure out a way to chemically restore alcantara once fibers ball up and get “fuzzy”, but you can lightly sand the top layer with fine grain sandpaper. The sandpaper takes off the top fuzz ball layer and leaves you with nice soft alcantara underneath. Maintain it from there and you should be good to go.

I take a razor and shave the little fuzz ***** off. Gently pulling the razor across the surface, just trying to catch the risen ***** and not pressing down on the steering wheel surface. Oh and some nice alcantara cleaner works to clean the surface afterwards.

I've used this on one of my old car covers (old Camaro's), and it did a great job of shaving off the fuzz *****, and not hurting the integrity of the fabric itself.

hmmm,. not sure I would try it on Alcantera on my precious P car,... but it might work.

Oh, and Sonax works wonders

^^ this. Sweater shaver is the easy way to de-pill alcantera.

Razor I imagine does the same thing but requires steadier hands than I have.

Agree with @bweSteve on the Sonax alcantara cleaner. It's a great product. Otherwise, wear driving gloves. A couple of my friends do to preserve the leather wheels in their BMW E46/E39 M cars. Or you can always choose to get it re-wrapped years from now.

Here are a couple of my interior projects.

GT3 RS is ongoing. This is an extended leather build with deviated stitching on the seats, but nowhere else. I'm told the original owner immediately added all the carbon bits at the dealer. I added the CGT buckets. You can see some of my plaid color matching tests below. This is a reproduction VW GTI plaid, but with orange stripes instead of red. Once the car is back from service, I'll fit the inserts and get some proper photos. I also swapped the old delaminating carbon console for an Alcantara one, and added yellow belts, which I think work really well. You see orange on top of yellow in the wheels and calipers, so I wanted to mimic that next to the cage. The steering wheel stripe ties it all in, IMO.

GT2 is done. Everything in that build is factory except the cage and inserts of course. I got the idea for these inserts from RUF's CTR press car. It's a reproduction vintage Porsche fabric.

The RUF car that inspired the fabric^
