Range 1 is 9000 to 9200 rpm's
111 Range 1's in this report.
(60/9200) x (111/3) = .24 seconds at an RPM exceeding Range 1.
Range 2 is 9200 to 9400 rpm's
40 Range 2's in this report.
(60/9400) x (40/3) = .085 of a second at an RPM exceeding Range 2.
Range 3 is 9400 to 9600 rpm's
4 Range 3's in this report.
(60/9600) x (4/3) = .008 of a second at an RPM exceeding range 3.
Range 3 is what I was looking at and it appears that those ignitions happened (482 operating hours - 350th hour) = 133 hours ago. I read that the window of danger is 50 hours. After that one can assume the motor did not suffer any potential damage. I'm satisfied with buying a car with this report attached to it.
Viewed Doug's video, which is informative and entertaining at the same time. I also read this 911 Virgin article which was also informative.

The 50 hour window is more of a concern for range 4 and above. Range 1-3 shouldn't be a concern. Good luck with the purchase. These are amazing machines.

I will throw in another opinion - when there are any records in the ranges 2 upwards, that throws a flag up to potential buyers. Most buyers that I know are looking for all over revs to be super clean, i.e. zero. Yes, lower level over revs combined with enough time passed means things are OK, but when you resell the car it is just another barrier or explanation you will need to contend with, usually coupled with some sort of discount. If the car is otherwise clean and you don't mind some over revs, by all means go for it, but just be aware it may require a bit of extra work when it comes to resell. Just my 2 cents ...
Cheers,
Mike

This may be the Internet **** retentive buyers that knows very little about these cars. Thankfully, that means less competing buyers, which by the way the demand outnumbers the supply. These cars are becoming harder to find. I have learned that the DME is overblown on the internet. If you are concerned do a PPI. You can even go as far as oil sample test and leak down. Most educated buyers won’t pass on a good car.

I've heard of the 50 hour rule-of-thumb (by Porsche) too,.. but did not realize it was for Range 4 and above only.
Has anyone read, or heard, of a engine-operating-hr-mark for ranges 1 - 3,... or are those Ok to have NO MATTER how many hours ago they occurred?
Thanks for posting the calculator RAudi (i had pulled a formula from Doug's video years ago when he first posted that video up,... but for some reason, the notes I took on my phone don't make mathematical sense to me any longer, Lol. .... yours are easier to type into my phone notes)
