Future Car Value in General

As an immigrant I can say that the US, despite all its shortcomings, offers the best opportunities in the world. Most immigrants do far better in this country than any other. Actually most immigrants are more successful in America , than Americans. Opportunities are everywhere, and for some, on a platter. One needs the discipline and hard work to realize them. More immigrants value the US and are financially more successful (as a percentage) than most Americans. I include the illegals.
A shame, really.
Here we seem to be mentally trigger happy and are more interested in beating down others, rather than elevating ourselves!
As for monarchies 18th century France and 19th Russia comparison, The US has already had a President and a Vice President, who are a son and daughter, respectively, of immigrants, is utter lunacy. This self-loathing is getting tiresome.

wow...
get some coffee
skip work, work will be there when you return. I know I have not yet returned but they keep calling me and piling up ...
go drive the cars...
stop worrying, tmo you may very well die....
I got closer to dying at least 3x a year...
I don't worry about value, bc I don't think devil in hell care how much money I have or have not

Oh I’m reading and comprehending. Fair is equal is it not? However, it has to start with education and family and not just providing $ incentives not to have a male head of household. You think the system hasn’t been gamed as a money machine. Lol. It has big time. “Free” money buys votes. It’s main purpose is dependence. Education and hard work buy independence.
Fair is not favoring or disfavoring one group over another based on any characteristic except ability.
Technology has and will continue to create growing wealth divide leaving many behind absent education.
Oh, and this country was discovered by immigrants and except for native Americans we all trace back to immigrants here.
My rant is over. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Back to our regularly scheduled program.

Well, price of gasoline, homes in many cities, cost of construction are up ~10-20% since last quarter.
Metals seem to be lagging.
No real discounts on P cars at this time.
As of last weekend no 718 Spyders on the east coast on Autotrader. A 718 GT4 with 4000 miles and CPO was at MSRP.
How long can this continue, or is this the new normal with mega inflation on the horizon ?

I started out in the hobby actually picking **** I thought would go up. Now I buy what I can stomach and sell whatever I'm tired of driving when that happens. Sometimes I buy high, sell low. Sometimes other way. I have no idea how future value of cars will hold up relative to other investment alternatives. It's purely a hobby for me and I try to not get killed financially in the process. Sometimes I do anyway

Not to add to this thread but I'm totally with the OP's comments. It's a weird time with any car that is collectible. Add to the fact that this chip shortage is impacting new car deliveries, and its a sh#t show out there. One of the Porsche dealers near me had like 5 cars new cars on the lot. Obviously, the demand is still there for cars, but the supply has been derailed by this chip shortage, so people are gravitating towards used cars. Once that gets back to normal, I'd guess that we will see some normalization, but on collector cars? Who knows.
For what it's worth, while waiting this out, I've been pumping money into Crypto at the moment. I might lose it all, but it's better than going to the casino.
