Absolutely a modern classic. Market supports that. They are already highly sought after and demand exceeds supply. They were the RS sweet spot as to size, performance, looks, driver involvement and rarity.

Yes!!! The sweet spot for sure. Not the fastest, but Wow, it sure does check ALL the boxes. The 73 RS is certainly not the fastest either and look how that car has fared over the years, and they made over 1500 of them. Hang on to your 997's guys! Lightning has struck

This guy is worth watching. It's a 20 min Vid, but he hits so many of the great points about the .1 RS He's also passionate about the manual gearbox. This Kermit has over 50K miles on it and is being driven as intended. Yes, it's a modern classic... Enjoy

I'd have to agree and I'd say any 997 GT3 is a modern classic.

Hope I'm not boring you guys, but watched this Vid just now and dig it, so passing it along. 10 min Vid. This car looks incredible... stickerless and white on black. Brilliant!!!

OK, guys...Clearly too much time on my hands today. Last one. An 11 min Vid shot on Angelus Crest, my old back yard. Awesome road. More RS Love here...

The common theme with the analog experience is the slight level of fear that is always lurking. Sure, there's that TC button.....which can be turned off. Yeehaaa

CheeRS!!!!

Let's close with a promotional Vid. Yes, I fibbed, although this IS the last one. 6 min Vid of a Pumpkin being peddled around Spa...... RESPECT....

In the Car Crush vid (2 posts above), did he agree (at 5min 45sec in) with his passenger, that the 997.2 steering is electric?

hmmm, I listened to that section again,... & just prior to the .2 electric steering comment,... he also says that in the "997.2 is where all the electronic gimmies come in"

I guess I'll give him a pass,... given that he is so in love with the .1, that he can't be bothered with corrections for any other 997 variant

... or maybe I'll take that pass back,... given he put "some" of the corrections in white letters during his edit review

seems everyone on this forum would agree with the thought of our cars being a modern classic

really depends on what people want / like. I don't think I'll ever move to anything newer than a 997, this just works for me

^^^this is about the breaking point of “newness” for me. There are a couple of 981/991 variants that barely make the cut; I’m more likely to go older than newer. But that’s probably somewhat due to me being the exact same vintage as the ORIGINAL RS
