Maybe a Falken or Yokohama? I've just never had any experience with either brand. Fronts are easy to find, but I need a 315/30/18 or 315/35/18.
Burren,... I just re-read your post too,... and if you read between the lines in my post above,... you might find that there is another possibility.

Possibly you don't need a 315 to achieve the width you are going after. I was shocked at how close my 964 Turbo new PS4S 285/30R18 was, when held up (end to end) against the 305/30R19 Cup2 width on my GT3.
Due to the tremendous amount of section & tread width Michelin is building into these PS4S tires,... you may get what you are looking for in the PS4S 295/30R18.

Check out the spec differences between whatever 315 tire you were considering, against that tire. It may be close to what you are looking for.

I’ve been using the PSC2 for years and don’t change them out for seasons… but I can’t get out of the driveway when it snows, i hydro plane when it rains and tend to spin a bit when it’s below 40. I’m not one of those guys that’s comfortable with speed after a rain or snow… I feel way more comfortable drifting my pickup than I do my car.

I don’t find my GT3 particularly practical so I feel the same way about it’s tires lol, I think if you want to run 4s you should buy a Targa 4s throw some ski racks on it

I'll try to get some better pictures when I pull the car out of the garage. I don't start up the car without getting it to temp so until the weekend, this will have to suffice.

My 14 year old son has now started the trek. He's got the 5 to 50's in the workout room now. I'm sure he'll be coming out to the garage to move the big guys in there soon enough. Just hope he doesn't hit the car while doing it. I dismantled the garage gym years ago when the car's started piling up. Gotta figure something out soon. Upside, I'm back using the equipment with him.

OOPS, my bad. I never told you that I ALREADY have Cup 2's on my GT3. Sorry bout that.

You can delete all those pictures above. None of them are needed. I only need pics of a set of PS4S 305/30's on 12" rims.

Thnx

Michelin does not sell a N spec PS4S (they do sell a TPC spec for GM, but other than that, there is only one to choose from). You posted above (last year) correctly, that the PS4S has a smaller rim-protector bead & you are right. I own them too (just not the 305/30 on a 12" GT3 rim!!)

You can delete those pics too, since we don't know what actual tire they are

Oh. Got it now. .... after re-reading, & re-perusing the above,... I am guessing that Ivanko is RAudi's son, and you are refering to the fact that HE has won this battle on moving his weights from the basement to the garage. Got it. I was so focused on the tire details, I missed the joke about a 14 yr old & his hormones.

targa4S seems a bit extreme,... but ok

My approach is that I am getting less than 8k miles out of the Cup2's, with tread depth on those at 7.2/32" and with a wear rating of 180 AA A.

... whereas the PS4S has a tread depth of 9.5/32", and a wear rating of 300. And a better temperature range for my location & the seasons I drive in.

Just seems the PS4S is better suited for my street driving, cost less, won't take as much hard driving to keep them up-to-temp, and will give me a lot more miles over the life of the tires,... plus I don't need to worry as much about using the car when it's about 40 degrees outside.

but thanks for the chirp (i think)

lol I like the targa! Ya I can’t really say anything…I’d have a set of 4s if my car was for casual use in any way. There is a reason that nearly all GT350R owners take off the carbon wheels w/PSC2 and run the 4S…it’s a much more livable tire. And let’s be honest… am I really good enough at driving to exceed its performance… I doubt it.

Over 8k miles on my .2 GT3 on PS4S in stock sizes this year.

Fantastic tire for all around use and no chance of me exceeding their limit on the street or canyons etc. Amazing wet grip.

Put 10k miles on my GT4 with PS4S. That thing saw light snow too on a few road trips and they were also great.

Running Cup2s on some previous cars of mine always felt like a waste without track time.

Not sure if it matters to you, but the C2 as a nicer looking sidewall by comparison. But tire aesthetics are personal preference.

second and third pictures are the rear tire, 305/30
