I bought my car 3 yrs ago, and it came with PSCup2's, which seem to be great tires, but I have found they take a while to heat up & then keep them up to temp. I drive only on the street too (lots of tour driving with PCA friends).
As you can see I'm in the Mid Atlantic. I will definitely be switching to the 4S next. I think you'll find an overwhelming response here on RL for the 4s, especially for street & in a cooler climate.

Thanks, was having trouble finding info searching.
I am in the Midwest , same type of driving as you. Just hoping not to lose handling by going to 4s vs current tire but I don’t want poor traction with cold tires on the cup 2.
The PS2 has been around for years, unveiled in 2003. So it seems kind of dated.
I would say go with the 4s as you plan to use your car for street driving. 4s has longer life span and is better in adverse weather conditions such as rain or cold weather. Cup 2 has a higher performance potential, but can be iffy when the weather is not ideal. Plus, cup 2’s have a shorter lifespan and they cost more to replace. You probably won’t use the extra grip that the cup 2’s offer, so it is probably not worth it.
Got the 4S during Michelin's promotion rebate, and the only place I found a discount on 4Ss(5% off) was at onlinetires.com. I prefer to give a company like that the business, plus the discount and the promotion rebate added up and made a big difference
I don't like monopolies or Amazon and did an extensive search and that was the best place. Maybe it's because the 4S tires are newer-I've found different prices on Cup tires and others for my S3 over the years but these were pretty much the same price everywhere. I've also used Simple Tire and Discount in the past, and they also sell on eBay so sometimes it's worth buying there-
I'm also happy with the Continental extreme sports I put on the S3 and might try them on the GT3 next time. They're both recently developed tires so either one would be a great choice
