Got a PPI on the 2008 GT3. Opinons?
2008. 23k miles, lots of service done at Porsche North Houston March 2019, 1200 miles ago including front/rear seals, new RS4.0 clutch pressure plate, bearing, water pump, exp tank, thermostat, engine mounts, coolant lines pinned Sharkwerks elbows all hoses belt, etc
Links below. The only things to note are:
There is an oil leak, and though it was replaced two years ago at the dealer it looks like the rear main seal. Bxstr mentioned though the seals were replaced it could happen again. It's pictured.
Accessory power cord run to the rear, rather strange.
DME shows 112 Range 1, 10 Range 2, both at 502 hours with 727 hours on the clock
Rest looks minor. Paint is original. Small scratch on the rear bumper with the worst touch-up ever.
Pre-purchase report

If you have feedback that would be great. The windshield will be replaced at the seller's cost.

They did not do a driving video unless there is something to notate. My agreement is $106k including a new windshield or replace the windshield later and take off $1500 but I'd want it replaced. A couple of people think it's a steal in this market. I think it's "fair". It's got a $140k sticker and it's equipped the way I like. I wish somebody here knew this car in particular
Here's the carfax Carfax The VIN is WP0AC29908S792174

Gotcha. Einar's is held in high regard by the local PCA. I don't have any personal experience. I was going to say if it was at PNH, i could lay eyes on it since I'll be there this weekend.

This car appears to be turn key solid, with a bunch of work just done (this is a huge selling point for me, especially when it’s 5 figures worth of work at a reputable shop). If you’re ready to buy, I would move on it.
good luck!

Solid PPI, solid car. Buy it and have fun. I purchased my GT3 (sister to this car minus PCCBs) a few months ago and had the same RMS leak. Since purchasing the car, I have driven it regularly and spiritedly. I haven’t seen a drop of oil on my garage floor since then.
Based on your other posts it seems like you are based in the LA area. If you end up buying it, let me know and we can meet up on the Crest.

Really thorough PPI and nothing on that report would prevent me from buying the car.
Regarding RMS - first off, it's common for the GT3 seals to leak, especially when not driven. Mine leaked before I replaced it. Mine leaks after I replaced it. However, I found out from another member on here, that they had a bad batch last year. He found out from his dealer after they contacted Porsche Motorsport that there was a bad batch. You can always replace it with the Turbo seal if the leak bothers you.
They pointed out coolant level. My very skilled shop filled mine to that exact level after they did pinning of lines and a coolant flush. Then my friend who runs a local shop also told me running it at that level is fine. I wouldn't say it needs to be right between the min and max when that entire tank is full. On top of that, my guess is that expansion is going to raise that level up anyway.
Everything else looks like very common things, especially for any 14 year old car. That's what I always try and keep in mind is that these cars have been on the roads and in peoples garages for a long time. Little scratches here and there are going to happen. Little marks on the leather are going to happen. Also, not very common to have the options sticker under the hood on a 997. With the price, my take is for the right car, paying a couple thousand dollars more is worth it. These cars are not getting easier to find, especially in good condition, so paying up for the right car that you're going to keep long term is worth it to me.

I guess I'm the only one that thinks it's a bit dear
at 106K, I think I'd go up a bit more and shoot for an RS
it is a great MY08 car though

Agree on buying it and then making it even better. I like buying a car that is 90+% there, but finishing it off with the stuff that truly makes it my own. Fresh steering wheel, shifter, in the car are always nice, fresh mats, fresh trim, replacing clips, the small stuff that brings it up to 95%+. Not saying this car needs that, but that's what I tend to do on my own cars.
