I got some more information. Apparently (and I have verified this) the owner has a car dealership with a workshop and have as business model, besides selling cars, to restore Porsches. So it's his own shop that repaired the car. I'm guessing that the picture I posted above was taken by the previous owner after the accident so it's not taken outside the shop that repaired the car.

If the seller is in Germany, I know shops there and people who can check out the car (speaking German). I keep my 968CS near the Ring at a close friend's Porsche shop https://www.kaul-gmbh.de/ .

If the seller's shop is in Switzerland, I could personally check things out for you depending on the location.

An update.

The car was indeed #181. I managed to track down the original owner and had a good chat with him. It seems as if the accident was a fairly slow one and it didn't damage anything other than the skin of the car. However, the guy was so upset with himself so he sold the car directly after the accident. As you can imagine, he regrets that decision today.

Anyway, I didn't buy the car because the guy that was helping the current owner selling the car was really difficult to deal with. He didn't really answer my questions and finally stopped answering my e-mails altogether. I even got a friend of mine who lives in Germany to call him up but even he couldn't make much sense out of him. The final bit of information I got out of him was that the owner didn't want to spend the money doing a 111-point test. At that point I basically told him that I needed the test to be done to be able to move forward and after that, radio silence...

I even got an explanation for this discrepancy. Apparently, the owner traded the seat inlays with a friend of his the day before the accident. His friend still got the car with his inlays in it
