I truly love to hear you going backwards in time. People who develop a proper love for Porsche tend to work their way backwards at times...but this is a VERY good thing.
Yeah, it’s been a very interesting, and expensive journey. I’m the king of negative equity. I’ve likened it to very expensive dating. But you don’t want to end up with the wrong girl just to save a few bucks.

And it really took me time to figure out what was missing: driver engagement and a more visceral experience. And having to be a better driver, rather than letting the car fool me into believing I’m quite the dude. 😂
Great story and car! Curious if you miss any of the tq coming from a 3.8?
Great question! And one I was pretty worried about—especially after reading so many .1 RS vs .2 GT3 opinions here—and most siding with .2. I definitely notice the difference in low end torque. That’s the only thing that’s been an adjustment. But if I’m up in the revs, it’s great. That said, it’s not a terrible difference, but it is noticeable So I may be doing some add ons (maybe!) for some extra power. We’ll see. Truth be told, if I decide this is going to be with me until the end, lol, then I may go for the Sharkwerks engine upgrade.
Yesterday I hit my fav canyon, and it was plenty fun and challenging. Coming out of corners in 2nd in the .2 which would have been perfect, sometime were a bit less explosive...but 1st would have likely been to low. We’ll see. Lots of me to learn before I make any serious declarations.
One of the best drivers cars of all time. Six years later and I’m still smitten!
Thanks, and that’s great to here. Besides harder driving, just cruising the freeways and streets is also really nice. Clutch is SO much lighter than my .2. And man, every time I park it, I’m looking back longingly. That’s always a good sign.
Yeah, I got really lucky with the interior. I was going to pull the trigger on a white/black one, but it had “damage” from rats chewing the wires, so I passed. That one had the standard alcantera interior, and was much more like my .2 GT3. I have to admit, I’m loving the inside as much as the outside. ❤️
dude - nice score! black is beautiful and I personally love the 997.1s
Thanks! I pulled the trigger sight unseen, so was hoping it’s “pop” would be as good in person as the pics. Not sure it will help with dodging tickets. 😂
Congrats, great looking car. Looks like you got it from Goldman. Think I have seen that one when I was in there.
Yep. That’s the one. They had a white one in Beverly Hills (I live in LA part time), but the one at Goldman in Cleveland was more special. Small world!
