OEM solid steel roof pice is 17 lbs. Carbon is 7-10lbs. I have yet to see a really good carbon piece.

Wow, if the OEM steel roof is only 17 pounds it would be much harder to justify using a CF roof skin for any good reason, meaning even as a weight weenie that's trading a lot of potential safety for not enough of a weight savings advantage.

From what I've read - I believe CF roofs should only be used with a full cage. Something about lack of protection in a roll over, which sounds reasonable.

As far as the headliner - wouldn't a standard 997 non sunroof one fit?
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, the yellowing, delamination, fitment, and safety issues in exchange for the 7-10lb weight savings of a CF roof are simply not worth it to me Steve.

Yes. The standard non sunroof headliner is what you want.

My cf roof swap should be done this week. I am now hearing from my body shop that I need an additional brace piece that comes on the non sunroof cars, that the sunroof car does not have. this would make sense as this was the same case on the e46 m3 when doing a cf roof swap. Ive never heard of this before for 997 but thought id throw it out there. The body shop I went with is bradan coachworks in ny. I will post pns tm. I am painting my roof aswell if anyone is wondering.

Additionally I have been looking into a rear plastic glass solution. I will most likely be going with the 9975451192 cup car rear glass.
