have the Continentals on an older turbo. Pretty comparable to Michelin’s 4s. Have those for street on GT3.

Conti Extreme Contact sports aren't bad at all, have them on my F80 M3, if you're not going to venture on the track or drive like a maniac for canyon runs they are suitable.

The PS4S/s are not "N-rated", correct? Not that I really care...

Some sizes are N-rated although, as far as I know, they are all for 20" wheels.

I specked 4S's on my RS but I believe they are not N-rated. A very good tire, IMO.

Installed 4S's on my 997.1 GT3 and am running the same pressures (30F, 33R) as the original Cup tires but the rear isn't as planted as before. I understand these aren’t Cups but I don’t think I’m getting the most from them.
Are you guys running the same pressures with the 4S's?
Thinking about raising them a few PSI.

How many miles on the tires? May still have mold release compound on them. Cups probably do have a stiffer sidewall as well.

Just a heads up to the group, looks like the back order for the Michelin’s is no more. They shipped my set on Monday.

Isn't that a bit low for non-Cup tires? As a reference, Porsche recommends 33F and 39R for the 997.1 Carrera on normal 19" tires. (36F and 44R for a fully loaded car.)

Thanks for the replies. I have about 500 miles on the 4S's. I agree the Cups probably do have a stiffer sidewall, I'll try 33/38.

What happened to the Super Sports? are they still relevant? That is what my RS currently sits on as Sport Cup of the time were too pricey and wear out too fast....

Is the 4S a new alternative to the super sport?

Yes. The Pilot Sport 4S is the top of the line Michelin performance tire for cars that are driven mainly on the road although it is not bad at all on a track. Wet performance is very good.

Just had to replace the 8 year old MPSS on my 2007 RS. Went with the MP4S because of the wet driving characteristics of the Cups. No need to pile my vehicle up, or injure my beautiful wife just to cut a second or two off my go-to-the-store run. Cost is significantly cheaper on the MP4S versus the Cups as well. Costco finally has them available again.
