Default Brake pad damper plates

Hi,
I was wondering if the damper plates between the ceramic piston ends and the brake pad is nescessary?
Are they only to prevent squeek or do they have any other mission?

My car did not have them when I bought it.
Running Race Technologies RE10 pads and Brembo Type3 discs, so I'm not worried about brake squeek.

Completely useless. Supposed to be anti-squeal plates but I could never tell the difference between having them and not.

Ditch it. Same with useless brake pad sensors. They are in the way if you need to swap pads on a regular basis.
