Thinking of selling my sharkwerks 3.9
I just found out my wife is pregnant again (already have a 5 and 2 year old). Im self employed which means I already work about 80 hours a week. I know if I sell it I will regret it, should I just store it or just sell it and wait a few years to get back into the game? Someone with more wisdom guide me lol
It's the best car I've ever had and I have had many high end cars....

I would hold onto it for now and try and drive it once a month, put 20 miles on it. When this much change is happening at once, it is best to evaluate if you will have time in the future, instead of trying to make too many decisions at once.

Selling it would be unfair to your kids as you will forever resent them for making you (feel like you needed to) do it.

You realize this isn’t the best place to ask for advice about selling a GT car😆 when there’s not a replacement in the works. I would hold on to it if you can. Think it thru maybe there’s other sacrifices to be made? Congrats on #3 Now you will be out numbered. Good luck👍🏻

Keep it for a year and see what happens. You probably won't be able to get a car in the same condition later. If you need the cash then that's different but selling it because you think you should will just lead to regret.

Congrats to you and yours, and agree with all, you have a rare car that you have customized and know. I would not sell if you can hang on to it.
If it were a 991 variant I would say sell it, they made tons of them, and although they are great, they pale in comparison to the satisfaction one gets when driving a 997! To me a 997GT car is the pinnacle of the water-cooled Porsche 911 experience, as you are fully immersed and involved on how the car behaves/misbehaves.

If it’s about having the time to enjoy the car, it will only get worse as the kids get older. While this isn’t a bad thing, it’s reality.
If it’s about money, sell it and maybe buy something at a lower price point that is at the low point in the depreciation curve.

I have a 12, 10 and 8 year old. I got my first P car when they were 8, 6 and 4. Looking back, when they were the same ages as yours, for me, I would have gotten MORE driving experience with them then I do even now. I should have gotten one even erlier than when I did. Let me explain.
They use to have minor events here and there. Or nothing really at all if you go way back. Now they have Competitve soccer, (want to drive a 100 miles for a game? Why the hell not?) music, play practice, tutors, more soccer, basketball, sleepovers, skiing, volleyball. Very hard to do things you BOTH enjoy.
I have been able to add to that list, Monterey Car week, track days, cars and coffee. Weekend breakfast runs. Sunday drives. Because of the Pcar ‘hobby’.
If you keep it (store it) you can share something you love with your kids when the time is right. And maybe, just maybe one of them emerges loving it just as much as you do. You just need to hold onto it so that son/daughter can emerge. That’s when some amazing memories are made. And we all joke about who will get the Porsche when dad kicks the bucket. Lol. good luck w your decision. You know what my vote is.
