Doing a little math and converting. 800hrs x the average 34mph makes it 27,200 miles. The car has 44k km which is 27,340 miles. From that side it don’t look reset. I have nothing further to add

OP - as others have said, zero over revs is not unusual and it doesn’t mean the car was babied. A ‘good’ DME report is part of the PPI process. Have fun shopping.

Simply stating the miles on the clock match to what the car has driven hrs to average speed. If this was reset at any point it wouldn’t match up

Correct... Digging a little deeper this car is not for me! The shopping continues.

Appreciate the feedback gents.

Also, I could easily bounce it off the rev limiter on cold oil everyday and that is never going to show up on the DME. As others have said this is why a PPI is important to at least hopefully get an idea of how the car was maintained and if the owner knew how to treat and drive the car.

Understand but where are you getting the actual average speed?

Hand calculating it from the engine total time and the miles on the odometer.

Ya, understand that.

XrussianX stated that the ave speed was 34 mph and that the mileage and total hours matched up indicating the DME had not been reset. But I don’t see the average mph provided by the OP. In post 2, LexVan calculated the average mph and stated that seemed consistent with other cars.

So, either I missed that the average mph was provided or I want to sell a car to XrussianX.

Bryan, The DME report in post 1 shows total operating hours of 806.6. And the OP stated the total miles on the car are 44,000 km. 40,000 km is approx 27,340. Then divide 27,340 / 806 = 33.89 mph ... hence the average speed of 34 mph.

Does that help?

Ya, I can do the math. LexVan stated as much in Post 2. I don’t think you guys excel in reading comprehension. XrussianX stated that the DME was not reset because the hours, mileage and average speed lined up. But I don’t see where the actual average speed was provided. Having the actual average speed would be valuable information.

It's not provided, and the hand calculated number isn't fool proof. Many cars have an average speed in the thirty something mph range. My GT3 is also in the 30s for example. What he's saying is that number matches up with reality. If the calculated number resulted in an average of 80mph, then a reasonable person would say that's not reasonable. You could then surmise that the ECU had likely been reset, artificially reducing the number of engine hours, and artificially increasing the average speed.

Edit: and then he applied the average he came up with to the engine time, and came up with the odometer mileage. It's a double check that shows the calculations make sense.
