Default Opinions on zero over rev report

Gents. I'm looking to move from a 993 to a 997.1 GT3. Car has 44,000km on the clock with 800 odd hours and zero over rev at all stages.
3 previous owners. I'm a little surprised by zeros right through the ranges. Would really appreciate some feedback. Thanks

Ave MPH is 34. That's normal. Report is (very) good. Do you trust the report? Do you trust the seller? A DME report is only one part of the car buying due diligence puzzle process.

0 over revs in any range is pretty normal on a 997 GT3. Redline is 8400. Range 1 is 9k.

Get a PPI and if everything checks out go for the car. Plenty of 997 GT3’s are driven on track and have no over revs. Plenty of street cars have some over revs though. Just depends on who was driving the car.

I've sold 3 997GT3RS. Only one has 17 Range 1.
The myth that Range 1 are from hitting the rev limiter maybe true, but only in the 1st gear.

I know this because I hit the limiter in every other gear and I tracked the crap out of them.

This is craziness... There's no right answer anymore... If a car has big over revs from a long time ago people won't buy the car, and if it has zero over revs people think they're being scammed. To the OP, what was the ideal number of over rev ignitions that you were looking for as you were shopping? I think if I ever decide to sell mine, I'll auction it off and do like all the other old fart sellers do on bring a trailer: say I don't know what a DME is and move on with my life

Not if you don't care about getting wholesale money for the car

I've heard DME can be wiped clean, he's just reaching out for a little clarity from the more knowledgeable.

Agreed, he is consulting the excellent GT car knowledge on this forum because he is concerned about the quality of the car he is buying as he is going to part with a boatload of money. And there is a learning curve on this stuff for new buyers..

By the dealer yes, but it resets the total operating hours. As such if you correlate the mileage against the operating hours and see an unusually many miles per operating hours it is your clue.

If you buy it you better drive the **** out of it, it’s probably got a leaky RMS and full of carbon from not being exercised, properly.
