Get coolant fittings welded or pinned. This happened to me at Thill with NASA. You can see its spilling out from the rear. Was on water and water wetter so not much cleanup and no one spun when it happened.

^ that pos is the absolute worst 996gt3 I have ever driven
it's fast but it tries to kill you.
chasen was in front of me with it.
"why are u so slow today" I asked
he answers, "go drive it yourself"
so I did.... "man.... I am glad I brought it home without hitting any walls and I lived."
then you drove it ... whew.... you flew off T2 hahahaha

Update - Sharky is doing his thing. Decided to ditch the GMG exhaust for the Sharkwerks while the engine is being worked on.

Nice. Looks like progress is coming along quite well. What is pricing looking like for your job, without the cost of the new exhaust? $5-7k?

I'm having some other items done while the engine is out so I'm not sure what it would be for you. Contact dan@sharkwerks.com they are super responsive.

Thanks! I am in Ohio, so was just curious. I know most have said budget $5k. My local shop I have heard is closer to $3k, but I know once you add in a clutch and other items you are typically around $5k.

Just took a look at the quote. For engine removal and pinning the coolant lines it's $4500. Slightly more than other outfits but I get a lot of comfort knowing James is working on my car in a shop founded on 997 GT cars.

Thanks for the info. Agreed, I would trust James without question.

All fixes completed. Took her for a nice drive up to Mt. Hamilton. The peace of mind that came with the work was very comforting. The performance of the guards LSD and Sharkwerks Bypass was even better. Thanks to everyone for the advice.

If your car has a CPO warranty will PCNA do the cam actuator and coolant lines?
just wondering.
