Congrats Steve! Regardless of price color miles etc I share a passion for these cars. I have believed since I collected my first GT2 in October 2001 that it is the best all around sports car. It does everything at a very high level. Enjoy it my friend! Best Josh

Thanks again for your guidance on the purchase Josh...there is no doubt that this is one of the most special modern Porsche models, and I am so happy to have added it to my garage! It's kind of like a well kept secret in some ways I suppose, since so many people are wild about GT3s and this car kind of flies under the proverbial radar. Such a rare and special machine and experience.

I'm laughing as I probably got more seat time in the first 3 days of ownership, mileage wise, than most GT2 collectors would in many years of ownership. But I'd have it no other way!

You are enjoying it as Porsche intended. I'm glad you are happy. I think I have 33K miles on my GT2s combined. It was my daily driver. I alternated between GT2s and AMG 55/63 Wagons. I hope you have many more miles and smiles. Best Josh

They are all still on my phone. At this point I just share stuff via FaceBook, not so much online forums due to it being a PITA comparatively speaking. After I upload them to my PC I'll see if I can attach a few here but I don't use free file sharing sites anymore. I do want to share with you guys though, so will see what I can do.

Glad to hear this all turned out well, Steve. Enjoy it for sure, 997 GT2 still on my TODO list...

SF? I wonder if that's my old 996... ~50k miles and a welded in roll bar?

Thank you my friend! I think we can all agree that the ULTIMATE garage would be a 997.2 RS 4.0 and a 997.2 GT2 RS, but I'm very happy with what I've assembled! These cars are indeed DRIVERS!

I think it is AWESOME that you drove the car back and hit some pretty cool landmarks along the way! Were you able to get a pic of the car with Mt Rushmore behind it? That would be EPIC!

Yes sir! I'll do my best to share some pictures of the GT2 with Mount Rushmore but I did do exactly that.

That's like asking which one of your kids you like better...so you're unlikely to get a straight answer out of me. Keep in mind I've owned the 3RS for 6 years and the GT2 for about a week, but they are both amazing and both so different. I love how different their personalities are. The best I can do for now is to say that the 3RS feels much more playful whereas the GT2 wants to kick all ***.

I appreciate all the kind words from all, this was a VERY BIG DEAL for me to go through with and I take the GT2 to its first big event tomorrow.

Now when she says "Does this color make my A$$ look fat"? You get to scream out "YESSS"!!! :-) Enjoy the heck out of it. You are in a rare crowd.

Awesome pics! You should frame some and start a shrine 😬. I mean that in the most serious of ways!
