What would you guys pay for a higher mileage 997 GT2?
 

I tend to favor cars with above average miles as my Porsches are drivers, but I'm curious to get some price point reference checks for a GT2 I'm looking at with a bit of interest.

The car in question is a black/black 2008 GT2 with a bit over 40k miles.
The car no longer wears PCCB rotors, is iron disc equipped (still has yellow calipers)
The car doesn't have carbon sport buckets, has 'standard' sport seats
It sounds like it has lived a good, but not exceptional life, which isn't criticism as much as a general statement
Asking price is $139k, which did get my interest

Your collective thoughts would be appreciated. Again, my style is to buy non-pristine things that I can actually use so I'm not bothered by most of those details except the lack of carbon sport buckets. Let me hear why this car might make sense or might be a terrible idea from your perspective...thanks all. I don't have photos of the car as of yet, so nothing to share there. I'd be most interested in hearing from others who have higher mileage GT2s of course.

I paid 150 last year for my GT Silver with sport buckets with 25k miles

40k miles is probably the highest mileage i've seen on a 997, if it was me I would think around $125 as it doesn't have the options that are desirable to me (buckets were a must)

for what it's worth the one I bought was originally listed for $189, I waiting about 4 months and got what I think is a good deal but if you look at the ones for sale now they're all priced wayyyyyy too high and not selling.

Also, I tried to trade mine for one that is still currently for sale a couple months ago, the one I wanted to trade for is black/black with buckets and 8k miles, I was offered $125 for mine on trade

At $139k or thereabouts, you can't really go wrong. It's a 997 GT2, will always be desirable regardless of miles. Go for it.

Hey Steve! Are you going this route over the 991 Turbo S that we chatted about before? If so I think getting a 997 GT2 is a better decision than a 991 Turbo S

I just sold a fully modded 991.2 gts (manual) for a sharkwerks 3.9 stroker 997.1 gt3 and couldn't be happier.

What are you replacing for a gt3? I think a gt3 or gt3rs may better suit you of heavy tracking ;)

Is this GT2 in Canada?

Yes, I've kind of given up on 991 TTS as a car I'd want to hold long term. I want to focus on cars that I am not only passionate about but believe are 'timeless' and may prove to remain desirable in the future.

That's how I generally think too. They just aren't going to make any more 997 GT2s obviously.

To make my GT2 dream happen, I would give up my Nissan GT-R and my Porsche 996TT. I really love my 996TT though, making the decision considerably harder.

If the car hasn't been modified it should be bullet proof. In the early days of the 996 GT2 there were several of us putting over 12K per year on them. It was just impossible to break them and since the engine is relatively similar in the 997 GT2 (I only had one of them) it should be reliable. However this will be a horrible car if resale value means anything no matter how right you buy it. Folks who are spending $150K plus on a used car don't want to buy cars with stories. I wouldn't buy the car you describe for $100k. Best Josh

It has not been modified, except for the brake disc conversion. Why do feel it's not even worth $100k? Brake rotors and seats aren't VIN marked items, and can be corrected.

Finding a set of carbon buckets for $6-7k should not be very difficult. I would go for it if that is the one thing that bothers you.
