Default GT3 Owners are smart

Have any of you lost any money on your vehicle? I keep eyeing them and they never drop in value!!! Great for y’all. Bad for a prospective buyer like me! Ok I’m done ranting. Enjoy your vehicles!

I'll probably take a bath on mine. The experience was well worth it though.

Mooty and I literally shadowed each other over the years. However I've only had 11 GT Porsches and I didn't make a penny on any of them. I even managed to lose money on a PTS Grand Prix White CGT JBO

When you have not gotten past the money part, it would be difficult to enjoy this hobby. Even if you have one or ten porsche.

Service costs money but nothing compared to the psychological benefits of a 997 GT car

making much better money on my 964 T

... but I'll accept the good looking part

... and I'll keep driving the crap out of them ..... cuz I'll be dead before any loss/gains really makes a difference.

Ain't that the truth. I'm lucky I'll be dead by the time we live in a post fossil fuel world. And I don't buy cars as investments. As I always tell the wife, I'm gonna drive it foot to the floor until the wheels fall off smoking. JBO

In my opinion, the true enthusiasts rank resale and investment aspects somewhat down the list. Far cheaper than a therapist...or God forbid, a divorce, if you love it - well then, it is the best investment you ever made.

We only use words like "resale" and investment" to justify the purchase to the wife

There are a lot of things I may try to justify to myself or others, but I never try to justify my cars as a rational thing or, needless to say, a smart financial move. However, they bring me great joy, and that's more than I can ask for. I'm sure at some point when I'm old and laying in bed unable to move (if I get that far), I won't look back and say I wish I hadn't spent all that money on Porsches, or feel bad that I didn't make money on them. I'll probably say I wish I'd driven them even more....
