Default My New Shop

Well it’s been a while since I have posted here. I have been in Construction mode for over 6 Months Working on getting my shop done.

I moved out to some Acerage two years ago so I could build my dream shop ... It’s now a reality.

Enough room for at least 10 PORSCHE’s 😉.

A Friend of mine just sold his automotive repair shop and gave me 2 Rotary two post post lifts and Locally I picked up a slightly used 4post lift.

I also scored 400 square-foot mezzanine from a company that was going out of business which gave me some good overhead storage .

I’m looking forward to starting the restoration on my ‘68 911 and my 1972ST Re-Creation. And I have plenty a room for my friends to come over and wrench on their projects too.

Oh Boy! More space for more cars........ Mooty has been upstaged or looking for more space. Poor me as I'm happy with 1800 sqft space three blocks from home. That way I don't buy more cars!! Just drive what I have

I am Located up North 30 Min Past Sacramento in Shingle Springs.
Once it cools down up here in the Fall we need to do a Porsche Meet up a drive. We have some great roads and
Their are a lot of great Porsche Enthusiasts up here.

My 1968 911 T Targa will be the sacrificial Lamb to pay for the shop.
( I just need to find the time to put it back together).
Its coming out of paint and I need to send off the Bright work to get done.
Fortunately the motor and Interior are done and I need to pick up the Fuchs from Harvey Weidman.
It was a nicely optioned car. Polo Red, Halogen Headlights, Recaro Sport Seats with Pepita inserts and Fuchs.
It will be hard to part with it but I needed a place to keep the other cars.

But it will be worth it .

Nice garage/shop. I am 30 miles to the west of you in Wilton (slightly south of Sacramento). Where do I find info on the Porsche events in the Sacramento area? I would like another good excuse to get my RS out with fellow enthusiasts. Enjoy the wonderful facility you have built.

I REALLY need to stop following this forum. It just hurts TOO much!

:-)

Seriously though, that is a spectacular shop. The possibilities are endless. Just curious, what are your outside temperature ranges in that part of the world for summer and winter?

The Temps here get into the high 30's in Winter and a high of 105-108 Deg. I insulated the Shop and Put in a 3' x 3' Exhaust Fan and Intake Shutter to pull the heat out. It works like a Whole house fan.
I am still working on some ideas to keep it cool. I considered using a port-a-cool swap cooler but I don't want to introduce humidity into the equation. For now I am using a 30" Dayton Fan that I can roll around the shop.
