Is the 997.2 GT3 RS that much better than a 997.2 GT3?

Its just a badge worth an extra $60-80 over a GT3. But I love that badge and everytime I look at it and drive it after 2 years of ownership,

I still cannot express how glad I am having an RS in my garage. I was from a 991 GT3 to my .2 RS and couldnt be happier.

My wifes and mine. Both beauties.
My gt3 lasted me 3 months and I ordered it and waited 6 months. Made money with it though.

My RS has been with me for 26 months and I just look at it sometimes in the garage in awe.

If you have the means to buy the RS, you will never question your purchase. Only when you sell it will you regret it.

I joined that club too. Only you know what really works for you. Don't be too rational because these cars are not rational choices!

I just drove the RS for a weekend drive abd I still am amazed at this car. Thr engine noise at high rpm at speed is intoxicating.

You really need to bring it on a track if you havent.

Interesting post's from all, I was in the same boat as the OP and wanted an .2RS as my first Porsche even though I had never driven any of the GT3 variants. Spending any time on the internet of the forums, you will convince yourself that an RS is the holy grail of the last real drivers cars(and i'm sure it is) but with all the time spent trying to justify the price delta, you could have bought a GT3 and enjoy the drive. If it doesn't make you happy, search for the right RS and enjoy the GT3 until you upgrade.

I just picked up a .2 Basalt Black GT3 and couldn't be happier that I didn't wait to save up the extra cash for an RS. For me the idea of being able to enjoy a car that I wanted for quiet a while and was a goal that I was working towards is rewarding enough. Now with the extra $60 ish that was saved I can get my wife her new lease and we can both be happy with the cars we have at home.
Good luck with your search and decision.

I drove both the 997.2 GT3 and GT3 RS before deciding on the RS. GT3 definitely easier to live with and could be used as a daily driver. RS much rawer and just felt more dialed in. In fact just completed a 1600 mile drive in the RS. Posted an article on it: 1600 Miles in the GT3 RS

Quick Reply: Is the 997.2 GT3 RS that much better than a 997.2 GT3?
