just trying to understand your mindset/strategy
presuming you do find the chassis which matches the engine that you bought, is your presumption that the owner of the chassis would sell it to you at fair market value?
there is a long thread on the early911sregistry where a debate has been ongoing about the value of matching number cars... and who holds the "power" in the negotiations when the owner of previously separated parts are found... he has the chassis, you have the engine... to everyone else, the engine and the chassis will be non matching - so not worth any premium to any other. to each of you... the other's part is worth the premium of a numbers matching car...

Hey since we are on the topic of LA dismantler. They have a complet ecu, Bcm, alarm set up from a "2010 GT3" so it says on eBay. I want to buy it but they will not provide the vin where it comes from? I've asked several times and they claim they don't know. I don't want to pay 1500$ for a part that could have a stolen vin in it! Are you able to recode a vin into a ECU and other Porsche modules?
