Default Help searching for owner of GT3RS

Back in 2014, the owner of LA Dismantler parted his own GT3RS. This was of course before the price of these cars going up. I bought the engine for my GT3. So I have an engine that is missing it's tub / chassis. Would prefer to get them back together if possible.

Question: how would I start the search for such? Attached is the vin #.

I remember that car too. I'm assuming they dismantled the car and sold of all the pieces off.

Wow, didn't figure they would totally disassemble the car. What a shame.

Yeah, I saw the car while visiting last year. Well, I saw the carcass... The body is completely intact with no damage but the car's been stripped and has been sitting out in the open for several years. It's not even inside so you can imagine the shape it's in... I think it had 10K miles on it when it was stripped. It could potentially be a worthwhile project if these cars' values go above $300K, but that won't be any time soon.

Now that I said that, probably someone will dig up this thread a few years from now and laugh at my short-sightedness.

I'm very interested in owning the carcass as is. Just in case these prices go nuts I can marry the engine back to it and build a project. I'll call today and see if they still have it.

I would gladly purchase the 3.8 from you if you want to part with it?

I thought the RS this came out of also had the complete front and rear suspension, sub frame and all sold as well?

LA Dismantlers no longer has the car. Sold, and they will not share any information about the new owner. I'm at the mercy of this board for any help.

Make a shirt saying you're looking for 'this' car with that pic above on it.. wear it to L5, RSVI and every PCA event you go to. i bet you'll eventually find it.

Love the idea, but I live in Texas.

Maybe I'll hire a PI. Man I would to have this project.

Two other options.
a) Spray and pray strategy: Start pounding concrete asking people if 1) they know the owner and 2) if they'd be willing to provide your contact info to the owner... email every PCA regional director or office, email all the major porsche publications, hit up the social networks, etc odds are the car is still in CA and since it was a roller, some of the local water cooled shops may have done work on it, hit all of them up too
b) Play nice with LAD and entice them to provide your contact info to the new owner asking him/her to reach out to you with no pressure. If you get that far in either strategy you'll know whether or not this person actually wants to be known.

I've done option B. So far I have played nice; but man they are hard minded.
