Pricing advice - in the market for 997.2 RS
Hi,
I'm currently in the position to find one of my dream cars, the 7.2 RS. Pricing seems all over the place hoping to get some guidance on where the market is right now. My search criteria is pretty straight forward: under 40k miles, no stories, range 1-2 overrevs okay.
What should I expect to pay? Given that I'm open to a higher mileage car, does $150K align with the current market? Or can I expect something lower?

1. there area very few RS at that mileage, most are <20k
2. i do not think 150k will buy a trouble free RS on average, but you may find the exception
good luck

good decision, 997.2 RS one of the best, last "old school" drivers cars on the market. Future classic imho, get the best car you can afford. It will pay off!

I'm moving and was toying with the idea of maybe selling my RS. It has 29K miles and everything that can be upgraded has been - 4.0 clutch kit, actuators, pinned coolant lines, suspension, etc., etc. Already has the OEM Clubsport roll bar & harnesses. You can reach me at ilko at mac dot com if you want to chat.

It's probably as close to what you will find that matches your wants you listed above.
That being said, personally, I hope ilko doesn't more OR sell his 3rs!

I've seen and driven with ilko with this car. It does not look like a 29kmi car. It's in great condition and he's done every bit of maintenance and more, that someone would want on a 29kmi 997rs.

993 is definitely not going anywhere! It would just be impossible to replicate...

Ilko a couple of rips in the spring and you will think twice. It's the doldrums right now. Plus we still need to get the twins out before you leave.
Someone above mentioned seasonality. I don't believe that to be true. The market is pretty darn steady from what I have experienced. I have also learned that whatever my budget is, I have to pay more to get what I want.
IMO the market appears a little softer than it was a year ago but I think it's less a function of demand (which is strong and quite intelligent) as it is about supply. If you want a really clean car you will have to pay and pry it from someone's hands. However, I have seen some cheaper advertised pricing lately from dealers who are probably choking on the endless supply of Porsche GT product derivations and can't keep it all on balance sheet anymore.
Good luck

Wanted to thank everyone for the excellent advice, guidance on pricing, and observations on the current market. Was working on two leads, unfortunately one is not going to work out. Hopeful of the second
