PCCB brake alternatives
im wondering about what are my alternatives if my pccbs ever need replacing. Here are my questions:
1-is there an aftermarket alternative for ceramic rotors?
2-how much is it to swap it with a Porsche steel brake rotors and pad?
3-Other options?
thanks!!!

Going from PCCB to Steel you have 2 alternatives from me.
I used to sell PFC rotors also but they can't seem to make up their mind on what version of the rotors they will continue to support.
Both Giro Disc and AP make direct replacement for the PCCB.
THe PCCB Calipers take the same pad shape as the red calipers so you can use any steel pad made for the 997GT3.
I have PMd you pricing and alternatives.

I've a set of these incoming (for 997.2 GT3), having heard good things about them.
https://surfacetransforms.com/porsch...brake-kits#GT3
Not sure if they're available in the US.
Used on the Aston Valkyre apparently...

Thanks guys! What's the weight increase per wheel when going ceramic to steel? Is it noticeable in how it drives?
also why aren't there any after market lower cost ceramic PCCB options?

AP or Brembo iron setup. Excellent brakes.
You'll gain about 30lbs to the car roughly. But, feel it? I doubt it.

I went from steel to ceramics and didn't feel much difference. It's the same great car
Another option is to go OEM - Either 997-2 GT3/RS steel rotors or the 997-2 Cup car set up - Cup rotors in the front, and Turbo rotors in the back.

really if a street car and you don't want a 25k brake job... this is probably best, even OEM .2 rotors are fine.
The brembo/ap setups are lighter and rotors last much longer, but for street use its just not necessary. Cup fronts are a bit lighter too.

We've done this many times. We tried many different brands/set-ups, we now exclusively use Brembos either Type-III or Type-V contingent upon use. We match them with the RE10 endurance pad and Brembo brake fluid. Not one complaint, second thought/guess, or regret ever since.
IMHO, it's simply the best set-up. Let me know and I can have everything dropped shipped to you directly from Brembo.

im wondering about what are my alternatives when my pccbs need replacing. My local Porsche shop quoted 30k to swap out the rotors and pads. Here are my questions:

2-how much is it to swap it with a Porsche steel brake rotors and pad?
3-Other options?
thanks!!!

As other option you could have yours refurbished or you could try to find OEM at much better price. I could help you with both option , when the time comes.

I was just at the Suncoast Porsche site and they offer a "Ceramic Removal Kit". It's on sale for $7400 and includes rotors, calipers, pads and all hardware. It's normally around $9K.

I have Brembo type III's all round on my car. Noisy as hell but a drop-in replacement for the PCCB discs. You can then choose whatever compound pad you want, based on driving style and usage.
