time to do brakes >>
I have a 997.1 GT3 and I'm looking to do rotors and pads all around. Drum roll please... This will be the first brake job since I bought the car in 2011.
Looking on Pelican parts, is there any reason not to do the Sebro "coated" rotors? I don't want to these to get rusty, so I'm hoping these don't need to have the hats painted.
List so far is Sebro rotors and Hawk HPS front and back. This car does not have the ceramic brakes and at this time the car is not tracked.
Any other parts I should replace while I'm in there? Sensors, dampers, spring clips, etc?
Thanks!

Sebro is good stuff and very competitively priced. You may want to do sensors as well as they can get pretty fragile over time.

My '07 is close to needing a brake job as well. A few months back I got a set of Zimmermanns from Vertex Automotive as they were having a 10% off sale. The rears were backordered and they comped me the OEM Porsche ones (Zimmermann boxed with the Porsche part #) - which were Zimmermanns and were coated. The fronts will need the hubs painted which is no big deal - Rustoleum Machine Gray aerosol works fine and holds up well.
The Sebros are probably fine as well but are a bit pricier than the Zimmermanns. I've used Zimmermanns on a few other Porsches over the years and they have functioned perfectly. I don't track my GT3 either, which is rarity on this forum.
The Hawk HPS pads are an excellent choice for street use - very low dusting and they are easy on the rotors. The best price I found on my set were from eBay. Just verify that the part #s are correct for a 997.1 GT3. PM me if you need that info.

another choice for pads are the stoptech street. found them on tirerack and they work fine. not as good as the stock pads which are somewhat track worthy.
rotors you can run the cayanne front turbo rotors and rear turbo 997 rotors

sebros are working great. looks like the hats are already painted so there's no need to worry about rust there. Impact screwdriver was a must for getting the screws out of the rotors. thanks new england!

If you don't mind can you share which impact screwdriver you used? I have the snap-on linked below but it seems a big big for such a job.

I had to use an EZ Out on those set screws just this past Saturday.

That thing saves me every time. Love it.
