Update 1:
Thank you all for your kind suggestions. I went to test drove the car and it was beautiful. Passenger power seat has a little problem(front of seat won't go up/down), and there is a little bit of paint fading on the passenger door which is weird. Everything else seems in very good condition and it looks like the car is well taken care of. Actually, the front bumper is a bit too clean as there is close to zero dents/chips. However, I ordered a carfax report after coming home and found that the car had a damage reported to the front of the car (non-structural, possibly the reason the front bumper is free of chips). So like some of you suggested, something is wrong that is why it's still here after being transferred to many locations by potential customers. I am less likely to get it because of the damage report in car fax.

The car cannot be found in CarMax because technically I still have a hold on it. The salesperson told me they are working on fixing the passenger seat and will do a repaint of the passenger door.

Thank you for your suggestions and I'll keep looking.

Seems like a good deal to me. The base 3.6 in the 997.2 cars are still very strong. In my opinion fine fore the street. If you plan on tracking it, the S, GT cars are better suited.

Make sure the fuel pump has been replaced. If not, make that happen soon as the 09s had issues with them.

That is a really good deal. Must have been wrecked, need major service, tires, brakes and/or all of the above at that price. Priced well below market and no-one is giving these away right now. The color is a bit of a distraction for some buyers, but not a $k or $8k distraction.

About $10K less than the rest of the market. Carmax usually knows how to price cars.

I would say something is definitely strange, maybe a price mistake. They have a 2008 S cab listed at $47k so doubt they would have a 2009 for $10k less even if it had more miles.

The car has been sitting on their lot for over a month. The car has been put on hold a handful of times and no one has pulled the trigger. Their pricing algorithm will lower the price until it is sold.

The fact that it has not sold yet is probably a combination of the color combo and that it may not be in the greatest of condition.

I was looking for a CarMax vehicle because of the fantastic warranty but ended up landing a Porsche CPO vehicle. If you can deal with the aesthetics of the car, the CarMax warranty will take care of the mechanical issues (if there are any).

Best of luck! It's a great price.

Is this supposed to be that car because I called out of curiosity and they have no record of it in their system?

grr:regular carrera with old 3.6, 345hp, S with 3.8 385hp and all the extra equipment you get with a S makes sense to just buy an S for what $1k more on used car prices for a 09. You are getting $10-$20k more car for nothing.
more bad advice?

I think you're incorrect in making both of these statements. Both the C2 and C2S models have a DFI engine in the 997.2 series. Also, the C2S model garners a lot more than $1K over a base model. It's more like $5-10K.

I just purchased a 997.2 C2S and I was open to both the C2 and C2S. I'm probably never going to track the car and the performance enhancements were just a "nice to have" with the C2S. It's subjective. If OP is looking at a convertible base model he's probably not looking for a high performance track monster. There's nothing wrong with a stylish cruiser for daily/weekend use!

Best of luck in your search OP. I passively looked for a year and a CPO model popped up a few weeks ago that I jumped on. The hunt is half of the fun!
