At 90K miles, it's up for a major service, oil/filter change, cabin filter, air filters, brake flush, spark plugs and ignition coil are the obvious. Get a PPI, a lot of things will need to be changed in the future. AOS, starter, alternator/starter cable, drive belt, tie rods, tires, battery, are some that come to mind. The biggest fear is PCCB replacement, what is the definition of "life of the car"? 100K miles, I don't think it's ever been specified.

Red Flag Alert!
You first state car has never been in an accident, but then owner tells you it's been in "SEVERAL" fender benders...Have a thorough PPI done by someone that knows these cars inside and out should you pursue this one. Could be a great buy.

Never accept his price without trying to get a little of the top!

From my many decades as a 911 owner, my advice is that unless you can do your own maintenance, walk. Over the years the only people I know who made out well when purchasing high mileage Porsches were auto mechanics. They have the experience to thoroughly inspect the car prior to purchase, and of course repair it when the inevitable problems occur.

I totally agree with this, at 90K miles, you better know how to replace more than just air filters, maintenance is going to be expensive, it was originally a 100K car so the maintenance is going to reflect that.

Forget what the cars sale price was. Only focus on what's coming up on repairs and maintenance for the next three yrs.

A quick nationwide search on Cargurus, this would be the cheapest AND highest mileage 2005 997 S on the market at the moment. OP, if this is a way to get you foot in the door AND it passes a PPI including frame/body work....go for it. But go in with eyes wide open. How many accidents were reported to Carfax?

Personally I would save up an extra $7-8,000 as that would open up a lot more options.
