Default Paintless dent repair

Just got my 911 back that had three dents repaired. One really big one and two smaller ones. The big one was on passenger door under mirror where it's got that nice curve. Two small indents on left front fender. I can't even tell there used to be a dent. Had it done at dentmasters. Cost was 700 which is still cheaper than body work and paint, which we know freaks people out on 911s. I was skeptical but it's all good now. He took the door off and used special tools to get in and work the metal. Very skilled indeed.

I had a small ding as well from a jack handle that I did myself. Found a local guy here in Northern NJ that was a miracle worker. Nice guy and after an hour and $150 later I swear I can't see where it was.

I've organized DentPro Days for my car clubs here in the SF Bay Area for some 20 years. Always great results.

I was impressed by what the paintless dent repair guys can do. Had them take out a bunch of dings on our old e-class, couldn't tell where they had been. But there are limits to what they can do. They have to have access behind the dent. A shop let fly a lift arm and dented one of my rocker panels and the dent repair guy couldn't get his apparatus behind it, so was unable to fix.

I had a similar first experience with PDR a few months back. George Demar at Rector in Buringame CA recommended his guy and by the time he was done 5 dents were gone and I can't even tel they were ever there. The PDR guy said he had been doing this 20 years, and that 911s are one of his favorite cars to work on because the steel is thicker and higher quality than most other brands.

I watched him do the work at first but it was nerve wracking. I left it for 20 mins and then came back to watch after the first one was done.

Default Dentmasters in NVA

Yes, they are excellent. Be prepared to bargain on price, however, since their cost "template" is crazy high for modest work at any rate. My modest work cost me 35% of his template estimate.

Mine had a ding on rear fender when I purchased the car a few months ago. It was removed completely except for a small defect on the clear coat which I was able to polished off. They removed the side air intake to gain access which is only held by plastic clips.

I also had them fix a door ding on my SUV of which I tried fixing myself by removing the door panel but it was a total fail. They were able to remove it in minutes and without having to remove the door panel. They were able to access it from behind via a factory access hole at the end of the door. They charged me $300 to fix both, totally worth it.

Ernie at Nickole Auto Body in Saugus has a guy come to his shop. I don’t know the guys name but he did excellent work on my 1987 911. Dropped the car in the morning and picked up in the afternoon. It’s kind of a schlep from Newton, but it is a good shop.

Just had a 50 cent piece size ding in my wife’s Macan door fixed. Cost was $150 which is the going rate in Houston.
