Default Have you replaced your 997's catalytic converters?

Well my C4 does not pass inspection -- and produces a 0430 CEL consistently. Bank 2. I believe the cat was damaged during my Fabspeed Cup exhaust install. New 02 sensors as well.

I purchased Magnaflow cats to replace both and retry.....anyone do this before and how? I'm fairly certain my exhaust pros can do this, but should the OE outer cat bodies be reused?

Not sure where to start....

I say why bother unless you really care about how it looks where no one can see and I don't think the magnaflow will fit inside the OEM housing, different shape....

I sent my OEM cats to carnewal and had him weld in new HJS 200 cel cats. I'd go this route if I was in your shoes, I was happy to get top quality elements that will last for a decent price.

Man I don't have patience to remove and ship to the EU. FFFFFFUuuuuh that. Pelican has OE replacements for $439. eBay 400-250$ 30 day guarantee......somehow I doubt Carnewal has the lock on this.

The $439 price is per side at Pelican. That's probably your best bet if you are in a hurry.

The carnewal replacements are HJS cats (the same brand that AWE or Fabspeed uses) and will hold up much better to track use than the eBay cats that you are considering. The downside, as you so elegantly pointed out, is the time to send them in. The upside is that the price is much better than the alternatives using HJS elements.

Some people are reporting poor fitment/check engine lights with the Top Gear cats which are another cheap alternative, I would avoid these for this reason.

The cats on eBay are for 3.8L engines.....I wonder if they would fit a Mk1?

Has anyone tried the Pelican $435 ones personally? If so please advise.

I came across these mangaflow direct replacement ones when I was surfing the web... You might want to give them a call.

not affiliated with neither Magnaflow or Dales motorsport....

If you find out how much they cost, please report back. Thx

When I was looking to swap out my cats I spoke with Gert about it. Shipping time from the US will probably take the longest depending on ship method but, once he has them he told me it would be about a 2 day turn around once received. I would contact him though considering its quality work.

Rock Auto cat is UGLY and they only have the right cat. Ill put it on anyway, but I ordered a Magnaflow OE direct fit for a bit more cash, nicer appearance and fit, as well. Oddly enough after I ordered the RA replacement cat for $255, they no longer have ANY 911 06 cats listed for sale..............thought id grab a LEFT cat at that price......nope.

Stay tuned on the Magnaflow OE Replacement.
