First, I'm not up on US pricing, so you have to figure that out with the guys here who are in your area.

A base .2 is a nice car... leather, sport seats, nav - all nice. Sounds like it's well cared for too, but only a PPI will tell you for sure.

It's missing a couple of things I feel are important:
030 - PASM SPORT SUSPENSION
176 - Sports Exhaust System
220 - Limit Slip Rear Differential Lock
P17 - Sports Suspension
XCZ - Sport Shifter
Some of these can be fixed by after-market purchases.

Those calipers have been painted. They should be anodized black, not silver. Not necessarily a bad thing.

And for me, it's not a manual 6-speed, so I'd pass. I assume you're OK with PDK. So go look at it.

Thanks so much Smitten. I currently own an 04 Carrera that I will be selling, it's a 6 speed and I'm looking forward to at least test driving an automatic before I make the final decision to narrow my search. I love the detail of the additional options you provided, I'm relatively new to the 911's (2 years now after owning a 944 since new for over 30 years) so still learning all the ins and outs...

Millennia Motors, not the worst. Better do a PPI.

They are asking $49k with almost 50k miles on the clock.

That could almost get you a Carrera S, which would have PASM.

Looks clean, one key, auction car(not necessarily a bad thing).

Here are a couple of mentioned products:

For a PDK its $1200.

It's $3250 + installation. I prefer a Tubi system, PSE is just another button to break. Too loud? Lower your R.P.M.s, it's that simple.

It's a PDK car, don't really know why you could use a sport shifter…

Just because it says Porsche, doesn't always mean it's the best available aftermarket option.

If you could get it for $45K…do a Gundo Hack, try it as is for a while.

Good Luck.

Millenia has a good reputation in our local Porsche community. They host a few PCA events every year. Most of their cars are in excellent condition. Anyway, I wouldn't buy any car without a PPI. PM me and I will suggest some local shops.

Btw. I am looking for a 996 MT. PM me your car info and asking price and lets talk.

That car has been there for a while and at that price. It was there early fall 2016 when I was looking to upgrade from my 997.1. I heard nothing but good things about the dealer.

A base Carrera .2 with standard non-PASM suspension is a great setup. You need to add the Sport Chrono package (sans clock timer) to access Sport/Sport Plus (essential).

Along with what others have said.....maintenance!

I see no brake service which is in the 40-50k mile range and can run $3k....also a major is due at 60k which is just around the corner...another $2k.

Both of the above can be had for less at an Indy.....

Good Luck!

Excellent points, especially about the PPI. Maintenance records are so important I agree. I have all of mine and the previous owner's as well...

Nice clean car, but IMHO, Base 997.2 + PDK - Sport Chrono software = A bit boring to drive. If it was a manual at $46K, different story.

At ~$49K, maybe a 2009 C2S manual instead?

If you do go for it, at a minimum budget an additional $1,200 + an hour of Porsche service labor for Sport Mode software installation.

Given all that has been said - I would say the right price would be about $40K - for that money it would be a fair purchase.

But considering how long the've had it and the current asking price, about zero chance of that.

IMHO it's a good car for someone who wants a modern, trouble-free 911 but isn't really into performance. An owner who wouldn't ever press the sport mode button if he/she had it or run an S to redline just to hear the engine sing.

Plenty of Porsche buyers out there that fit that demographic, just not as many in the Rennlist crowd.

This is exactly the kind of feedback and help I was looking for, thank you. One of the big reasons I want a Carrera.2 is to get the black gauges without having to take the dash out and replace the white face. I've never driven a PDK so am looking forward to see how that feels as opposed to my current 6 speed (pic attached below); who knows you might be right about being boring... We'll see, it's early yet... Ralph
