Default Wavy Dash

The PO left the car in the sun for an extended period of time.. As a result some of the interior took a beating. Other than some cosmetic imperfections and the sun damage, the car was well taken care of. Since I bought it, ive been working through all the issues and now its time to tackle the dash..

You can see the waves in this old video from the dealer. 4:30-4:50 gives a good look...

The front vents and center speaker are easy enough to replace, but what can I do about the dash? Will a heat gun cause more damage? Any other products or ideas other than a full dash replacement?

Not sure if it can be fixed, may require replacement. Have you checked with a high end detail shop?

Not sure how to repair them but know that the parts by the windshield are removable. Start with a plastic pry bar and remove the center speaker cover. Then the left and right dash panels pull upwards. Working with them on the bench will be easier.

I'll be replacing my defroster vent trim at the base of the windshield with CF versions I've had in the closet for over a year. If you're interested in purchasing my originals from my '05 C2S with Full leather and 53,000 miles that's always garaged. Might give me the incentive to finally get this done. I'd have the 2 long sides and center speaker cover.

Where the top dash meets the front dash piece, has the leather just come loose where it could be tucked back in, or is the dash part itself warped there? Looks like you need new cupholder trim too.

Anyway, let me know and we'll see if we can come up with a number on the dash pieces.

They make dash covers which is a very cheap alternative to a replacement. Might not be a style you can live with but search around.

I'd replace the whole thing. Looks crappy. Perhaps you could buy a new piece without leather and have an upholstery shop transfer the leather.

Or go to exclusive option, or one of the other online retailers and get it a fair amount cheaper than OE.

Maybe I should ask another way: will I cause more damage by taking a heat gun and trying to mold it back?
