I was told when my clear wrap went on to just treat it like it was painted... no special treatment.

I live in central Ontario, Canada. Lots of bugs. Mine (half of front clip) has been on for 7 years and has about 140,000 km on it on mainly highway driving. Tar and dried bugs are easily removed with WD40 followed by a wet mitt with a dab of car wash wax to remove the residue. Don't use mitt for anything else. I never use any detergent. Still looks clear and shiny save for a few small marred spots from stones. Waxed when car is waxed.

Xpel sells a sealant that they recommend applying once a month... but then... they are trying to sell a product. I haven't used it myself, yet, because the film seems to be working just fine as it is.
Here is its description if you are curious.

XPEL Film Sealant is an acrylic polymer product that is purpose-made for protecting any aliphatic urethane paint protection film. Attaching itself at a molecular level, the sealant forms a hardened barrier when exposed to UV light. By sealing off the pores in the film, the sealant will reduce absorption of pollutants, tar, and pollen; as well as staining due acid rain, hard water and bugs by 90%. Because this product is engineered specifically for Aliphatic Polyurethane, it is much more durable on Paint Protection Film than other waxes and polishes. Apply XPEL Film Sealant monthly for maximum protection.
