Default GT3TEK front lip? To paint or not to paint?

I am thinking of ordering the front lip to balance out the car. The car is arctic silver, not sure if I should go ahead and paint that front lip or leave it blank. There is a shop here will do re-sprays on the lip for $195, a lot of people get it done every year. But if I leave it black how is this going to look on a 997? Anyone know the approximate cost to get the lip initially painted? I looked on their website, didn't look like there was anyway ordering them, I hope they're still in business!

The other option is to go with a full aero kit front bumper, but I'm looking at probably 4000 if that's the case. The lip spoiler seems like the more cost-effective option. Thoughts?

Some people here with black cars leave it unpainted. I think you should paint it on a light color car, but it's kind of a matter of taste. If you want the contrasting look, you can leave it unpainted but it'll look kind of cheap. A rubber/vinyl conditioner would give it a nice shine and help with that issue. I think the lip is a bargain compared to full bumper replacement. Then you sorta have to get the rear to match the aggressiveness of the front.

Another option is to paint it yourself like what some members did. Do a search on GT3Tek lip and you can read about it. They basically masked it off and painted it with the aerosol spray can type of paint then clear coat. The paint will cost you around $30 ish for base coat and clear.

I had white C2S with GT3TEK front lip and painted to match exterior color. IMO, the lip flow better in uniform color on regular bumper and make it look a lot more aggressive. I paid $500 for the paint and labor, $195 no question. Do it and post some pix, don't waste your money on aerokit set up bc no one can tell the difference except you and Porsche fanatic.
Just found the pix of my old car

Depends on the rest of the car. If its stock and this is the first upgrade, black will look cheap. If you already have or plan to do more...back accents can really look good on a silver car.

Really matters what your end state intends to look like, not this one mod.

Tried contacting gt3tek via email and pm on forum with no response. Are they still in business? If pre sale enquiries go unanswered what about after sale? Read a thread on here someone waited 10 months for his gt3tek lip.

This. I left mine unpainted, although I did use black Auto Dip.

I'm not a fan of the unfinished look so I painted mine. It cost me about $50 (primer, base & clear). The only PITA part was the prep work.

What is your source for paint for the 99seven? I thought it had to be custom mixed?

Looking at these pics, it only works unpainted on a black car and needs to be painted to match. With a black car, I'd probably just dress it with something to make it shiny and that would be close enough.

I'm the one that waited 10 months to get a satisfactory lip from Gt3Tek. Here's pics of the test fit left in Black. I'm gonna paint it.
