After installation of the H&R Springs from ECS tuning,I started the car and 2 minutes later PASM failure message appeared on the dashboard “PASM Failure” Both sport modes are disabled and car is locked in the stiffest setting. The ECS websites states that the springs are compatible with PASM

Disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and reconnected it. The problem did not go away.
Disconnect the battery and check all four corner PASM wire connections. I checked that the wires were tightly fit. Checked all the fuses in the kick panel fuse box. All fuses are good. Reconnected the battery and started the car. Problem did not go away.
Disconnected the battery and reversed the polarity of all the connectors thinking it was plugged in the wrong way. Problem did not go away.

First verify the polarity on the PASM connectors. If you look inside there is a +/- on the round yellow plastic connector. Match them up properly.

Then drive your car on a short test run. PASM & PSM messages should clear themselves if everything is connected properly. It's the airbag light that doesn't clear itself.

Yes I already did that. Inside the connectors there is a small number 1 and 2. I matched numbers correctly. I even tried plugging it in both different ways. I drove the car for about 15 miles and the code has not gone away yet.

Springs should not cause shock errors. I'd get my hands on a Durametric cable and pull the error codes. It will tell you more of what is going on.

You might have pinched one of the pasm cables during the install. That would seem fairly easy to do.

I checked all the wires and connections. Do you know anyone local with durametric btw?

UPDATE: Scanned codes and got front left valve failure. I believe this means that I have in fact damaged the PASM wire on the front left strut. Anyone familiar with this. My options are to order a new strut for $700 or try to play with the wire and see if I find any damage.

Bilstein can repair then test that strut with the damaged wire. When I bought mine from another member, they weren't packaged properly and the struts sliding back and forth in the box during transit badly damaged the wires. He sent them back to Bilstein in CA and had them repaired, then shipped them back to me. That will surely be a lot less expensive than $700 for a replacement, but will probably take a bit more time than buying a new one.

I just got off the phone with Bilstein and they ran the porsche part number I am looking for which is 99734304522. ($764 from ECTTuning.com) Billstein has a replacement with a different part number that they say is the same exact think just with a different part number for $330 ( Billstein part #22-147530)

Is that the same exact shock for $400 less????

I'd have to trust Bilstein to know their part #s, but yes, it's likely the exact same part just without a Porsche part # and won't come in a Porsche box.

If you damaged the wiring that should be an easy fix check the wire for continuity and repair the damaged section with a lineman splice.
