Got the PPI.

Weak battery, rubber clag? all over car from track use. Interior Dome light out. Missing 2nd key and manuals. Missing Right Rear dirt flap. Rusting on exhaust. Revs into range 5. Can someone decode this for me?

Range 1- 57,010
Range 2- 1,380
Range 3- 102
Range 4- 234
Range 5- 198
Range 6- 0

Also has anyone had any work done with Red Shield warranties? That is the company they recommended.

What are the hours on the engine? When did the 4 and 5 overrevs occur?

Looks like a very hard worked machine. Service records? Need to ensure this much worked machine had been serviced religiously.

Default Concerns

How was test drive? How long were over revs above 2? Rev 5 is a concern to me. Rusty exhaust? What part? Before or after cats? FyI,cats & manifolds are one unit..either part needing replace means All must be replaced. Missing mudplap can indicate damage to suspension or oil pan($2000 part).

That car has been enjoyed thoroughly. Maybe carelessly?
Due to Rev 5s and rust <-- id offer no more than $65k.

Thank You for your service sir. If you're a serious buyer, might sell you mine for a fair price. Mine has 58k mi though. 100% mechanically, serviced by Leith Porsche mostly but always at a Porsche dealership. Paint needs touch as to be expected. Peace of mind knowing it has about two months left on it's 8 year 100kmi cpo. It will be tough letting her go..but. let me know. Pm me if interested.

Overseas? Frankly, I'd not buy a car like this without eyes on.

I negotiated for purchase of my 6GT3 and my current 7GTS by email and telephone. Back and forth securing information and data. Accepted the deals contingent on personal inspection. Traveled to the dealers, inspected the cars, drove them home

I've bought other cars without this personal inspection, but would not buy a car of this type without eyes on.

Same car, the one that was seriously overpriced? I would walk. Don't bother with a low-ball: I am sure they will sell it to someone who doesn't do their due diligence.

I can't stand most car dealers for this reason. They aren't forthcoming upfront, and waste your time if you are knowledgeable. They rip you off if you aren't knowledgable.

The best advice I can give you: buy from a private party here, an enthusiast. Know the history of the car and what you are getting.

You do need a 997.2 GTS... we all do. But not this one. It sounds a little beat up and it's overpriced. I would send them the PPI results and laugh back.

Out of curiosity, have you driven a PDK? I was a die hard manual guy before I got a PDK (long story... my wife hates me), and I gotta say, the PDK is awesome. I just went on a recreational drive today on a nice windy road, and the PDK just always has you in the right gear. It's almost psychic. More importantly, it's very enjoyable. That would open you up to deals like this one on our deals thread...

That's a 10K difference for an arguably more valuable car, and more in line with what I've seen in my imaginary GTS shopping. Just throwing it out there.

USNA - there is a nice 2009 C4S 6speed for sale with only 30,000 miles asking 57k - if I were in the market i'd be on the phone with the seller right now and try to negotiate down to about 53-54k https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...iation-62.html
