Is there a 997 pedal board that has coverage behind the clutch pedal as well?

We do not have a floorboard that extends fully behind that clutch pedal due to the design of the factory foot-well. As for upcoming discounts, they are extremely rare but you might want to come find us at Hershey!

 

But now you are an official sponsor of Rennlist and perhaps you need to rethink the 'extremely rare' discounts statement. Members on Rennlist will definitely respond to occasional discounts. Otherwise what's the reason/benefits for the members for the official sponsorship? I know thats not the only reason so am sure you'll eventually find the proper balance.

Purchased a fire mount for my 997. Beautiful and trick piece. Instructions should warn that front seat bolts crossthread easily. 😎

Cosm3os- thanks for the warning- I'm about to install my FE mount and it comes at just the right time.

I attached the Rennline quick disconnect as well, but I'm having a MAJOR issue finding an extinguisher that will fit the EXACT 3 inch diameter required.

The 2.5 lbs. extinguishers are actually 3 1/4" in diameter and will not fit into the hoop, and the 2 lb. cylinders are slightly too small, so I will need to jury rig something- NOT what I was expecting at all. It's an expensive item, and I want it to attach perfectly- I don't want to worry about the cylinder sliding in the quick release bracket!

Had Rennline cut the hoop and used 4 screws instead of two, the 3 1/4" might be accommodated. Even though you see a gap in the hoop, it's solid aluminum and has zero flex, so it appears the maximum diameter might be 3 1/16" or maybe 3 1/8" at the outside.

Interestingly, I had an old extinguisher dated 1971 kicking around my garage (a 2 3/4 pounder) which fits PERFECTLY.

I could install it for regular street use but it would never pass a safety check at the track.

I'd appreciate any suggestions from anyone else, since it's a beautifully built part, and it would be a shame to have to return it.

 

How about adhering a strip of self-adhesive soft rubber weatherstripping insulation inside the metal clamping band. This would hold it more securely and prevent any metallic vibrations or rattles too.

 

Great idea- I was thinking about a couple layers of rubber bands, but weatherstripping may work best.

My main worry is since the extinguisher slides into the hoop, I'd have to be careful the weatherstripping didn't fold over and end up outside the hoop- the clearance would have to be juuuuuuuust right I think to avoid that.

For anyone looking to fit a bottle to our Quick Disconnect (FE12) I would recommend using H3R or Amerex which we have confirmed to work. We have not confirmed other brands but that’s not to say other brands might not work!
