997.1 Exhaust vacuum valve install
I bought a used set of PSE mufflers to my 997.1 S non PSE car.
Two answers I can't find in the forum.
1. Which vacuum line to cut to get vacuum to the solenoid?
2. The best way to get 12v in the engine area, to provide the remote box with 12v.
I'm not going to connect to the switch in the cabin, to much hassle I presume.
Thanks

You just need to tie in on your air filter solenoid for the Helmholz resonator, this is vacuum operated.
12 volt, numerous locations but easiest imo is to take 12 volt from the bottom where the alternator/ starter cable is connected. You just need to feed your wire from the top of the engine to that location.

Here are the the complete factory retrofit instructions. The muffler flaps are controlled by an electric vacuum solenoid. Switched power is applied to the solenoid and it supplies vacuum to the muffler valves, which makes them quiet. When vacuum is removed the internal springs move them the other way, which makes it louder and less restrictive. You could wire the solenoid with a simple switch or there are also remote control kits available.
