Default <$40K for this 997.2 manual + convertible?

I am still looking for the right car.
This seems like a low spec car and I don't quite like the wheels. Pros are manual and relatively low mileage. The dealer will probably negotiate since they called me back couple times back. I am thinking high $30s but is it too aggressive for a purchase price? KBB and Nada gives around their asking price. I haven't yet seen the car.

Dealer Pricing seems fair to me. You may be pushing your luck if you think you can get high $30s but you never get unless you ask. Just don't insult.

Agree with Speedvagen. Price is fair and the car looks good. Southern car as well which is always a plus. Those wheels need to go asap!

Here's the build sheet of the car for your viewing pleasure (sorry for the enormous size but my computer is acting weird and I'm too tired to troubleshoot the problem)

If no accidents or paint work and a clean ppi that looks like a great price for a very nice car.

Thanks ATSR.
I need to go and drive the car. The lack of Sport mode is somewhat of a concern. I test-drove a 997.1 C4S earlier and I liked the sport setting. Is the sport mode really important for resale? Does most buyers look for the sport/plus option? PASM probably not a must for me.
Also any opinion about Proxes (Toyo) tires? The dealer says the Proxes tires are brand new. I am not familiar with that brand.

Cheap tires...replace with the rims ( downsIze to Carreras 18s - the way engineers intended it ) or go with 19 Carreras s rims
You can get the sport button from Porsche dealership - 1,000 to 1500 I think?? So don't worry about it.

Looks like a nice car and if you can negotiate a lower price it would be a very good deal (assuming no issues). I'd use the aftermarket wheels (like them or not) as a negotiating tool. And with the weather as bad as it has been in years in SoCal moving a convertible might be more difficult than ever.

You won't "need" the sport mode with a manual but as mentioned it can be added.

I am local and would be happy to check it out for you.

I got mine for 40K. The HRE wheels were black, mine had 59K miles. perfect condition, with PDK & all the important options. Your looks very good, if you can get it <40 thats a good deal, ugly wheels or not

Adding Sport button to this car (manual trans, non PASM, non PSE) won't do much besides added throttle response.
Wheels look like factory 991 20's, not exactly cheap.
Nice looking car though.

No need for Sport Chrono on a stick shift.

What bothers me most is the missing PASM. Car looks lifted.

If its accident free then I would try to make an offer.

Default drove that car yeterday

I'm a local OC guy and I went to see your car. the shop is small boutique, nice people but they seemed stuck at 42-43K. He said it was a trade in, but I suspect they got it at auction. The car is low mile and in good condition, cosmetically 8 out of 10. However, it is a very low optioned car, No PDK, No NAV, No power seated, No sports chrono, comes with 20" wheels with new Toyo tires. Stock suspension, yes it looks lifted. It drove nicely, brakes felt good, engine sounded as it should. It's just a nice clean low mile cab, no bells and whistles.

Argh, everybody knows that 20s on a 997 are rubbish! They must have had them lying around...
